Really cute tearoom with vintage decor! Super popular in Ely and finally got to try it! First of all, amazing selections of tea from all over the world! Great selection of desserts and food! The brownie has chucks of walnut in it which tastes amazing, the scone was huge and delicious, the gooseberry pavlova was so light and airy, one of the best I’ve ever tried! The decor was so pretty and unique, you definitely should check this little gem out!
Dined inside this very quaint tearoom what a treat! Staff excellent attention to detail. Went out of their way to make us feel welcome and found us am excellent table. Choice of tea was amazing. All the cakes you could think of. When all came, was served in beautiful bone china tea cups, saucers and teapot Wonderful experience and good way to spend time.
I am unsure if the tearoom has changed ownership ever since I first came 7 years ago. Regardless, it is still a lovely place to have a nice tea they have a wide selection and have some cakes or sandwiches or go for a full afternoon tea experience The staff are incredibly friendly and lovely. I came here just before Christmas and had lots of nice specials for the season, including some Swedish delicatessens. Totally one of the main reasons to visit Ely!
Already planning my next trip to Ely or Cambridge just to come here. And next time I bring friends! A perfectly lovely tearoom and in a great location. The staff were extremely welcoming, especially the girl that mostly served me. The building itself is beautiful, the outside patio stunning that wisteria! and the inside so quaint and surprisingly spacious. I ordered the afternoon tea for one which initially seems a little pricey but it's so worth it. Four tasty finger sandwiches, a large and possible the best I've ever had scone with clotted cream and a selection of jam. I chose raspberry, my favourite, never been a fan of strawberry. Then I could also choose a a slice of cake. Oh wow. The carrot cake was incredible! All served with a tasty own blend, loose leaf tea. It was perfection! I also ordered a glass of bubbly because the whole thing felt so special. Thank you.
Loved the atmosphere in Pracocks Tearoom! The staff are one of the sweetest and kindest people we’ve met dinning in restaurants around England. They constantly checked up on us to make sure everything is to our liking and were very detailed with explanations of the cake flavours. Ordered afternoon tea and the smoked salmon salad. Loved everything! Their tea selection is heaven to tea lovers! Will be back if I visit Ely again!
Have been to Peacocks Tearoom twice now - we loved it so much the first time, we came back to Ely the next weekend specially for it! It’s in a beautiful setting right by the river with both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and happy to give out recommendations on the teas. We tried the Full Monty which comes in a three tiered display with sandwiches, a scone and cake - all delicious and really fresh. They have a very extensive collection of teas - I tried the Pleine Lune which is one of their most popular ones - a black tea with a nice almond flavour. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing afternoon activity! They also serve a few daily special meals if you would like to come for lunch.
Fabulous place to have a meal or just tea and a scone. Very friendly staff, quick service, loads of different teas to choose from & tasty coffee. I had a delicious gluten free scone with cream & jam. Not able to book in advance so recommend eating outside of popular times because the queue can be out the door and down the street! Close by parking and a nice spot in Ely by the river.
We were absolutely in love with this place! The cute garden with vintage details included a bookshelf to buy second hand books which makes it the loveliest! I have never had such great Cream Tea... the scones were delicious, perfect clotted cream and fruity marmelade. The tea was amazing and we appreciated the possibility to by their sorts. Wonderful, a big recommendation!
We have been to Peacocks twice now and have yet to find another comparable place for afternoon tea! The tea was great both times and they have a wonderful selection. Their scones are amazing as well!
Great Tearoom, lots of teas available and fresh made food to chose from, all to enjoy while you take in the nice views by the river! All of the staff that we interacted with were so polite and helpful! Highly recommended and look forward to returning soon!
