Route is fantastic. Beautiful small plates, seasonal and delicious  with an ever changing menu. It's fine dining with a casual and friendly atmosphere. Top wines and cocktails too. Great value for such sublime flavours and quality ingredients. Thanks to the lovely team for another smashing evening.

Very easy to use the online booking system. Came with my partner and ordered 5 plates it’s a sharing plate kind of place! and left very full. Every dish was delicious and you could taste how fresh the ingredients were! Lovely wine and even lovelier staff! Definitely would recommend!!

Popped in for Sunday lunch. It's a very cosy restaurant with a relaxed vibe and the staff are very attentive. The food is outstanding!! Nice sized portions too and the gravy was unreal The Cookie & chocolate sauce afterwards was perfect. Can't wait to come back!

One of the best meals I've had. If you're a foodie, this is definitely a must when visiting Newcastle.

Meal was lovely. Asked for house wine, bottle was brought, got the bill and shocked to find that the bottle of 'house wine" cost £34.50, other wines were about £22. After lovely meal was feeling cheated by wine cost.. won't be going back !!!! Their loss

this little restaurant was a great find for us. The dishes are imaginative and delicious. I wish them all the success they deserve

Sister restaurant of the Staith House on North Shields fish quay.  Very much in the style of a European neighborhood restaurant...very relaxed and informal but fantastic quality food. Lovely decor and staff. Very different to the general Newcastle scene. Good for couples or groups, expensive but excellent value for money.

Don't eat here. The food size is dreadfully small, it is chaotically served  your partners meal arrives 10 minutes before yours and it's expensive. The manager was openly dismissive towards a member of the staff. Not a relaxed atmosphere. Left Route hungry, disappointed and pounds lighter.
