A warm and welcoming pub with lots of character. My boyfriend and I popped in after being on a long walk and they were accommodating despite us having not booked a table and it being Boxing day. We only intended on having a snack but the menu was too impressive to ignore and we went with the pot roast pheasant and rabbit and ham hock pie. Both were incredible but the pheasant was especially beautiful and we both left full and happy. Thank you for squeezing us in, we'll 100% be back.
Have driven past the Rose & Crown every working day for the last 20ish years. This last Sunday we had lunch with friends there, great!! Will definitely return. Good choice of beer, friendly staff and landlady, food was very good and a decent portion, and very fairly priced for the quality. Would recommend.
The food was beautiful so tasty we had a beef roast. The staff was very nice and the manager/ owner had a chat with us too. Beautiful views and a warm and friendly pub. Will be going again very soon
Honestly stumbled on this pub by chance and wow. The best country pub I've been too. Cosy warm, unreal food and dessert was amazing. Staff spot on dog friendly, views are beautiful. Great pub you should go if your googling pubs nearby you won't be disappointed
Excellent service and fantastic food! A Beautiful, warm and welcoming pub. The service was excellent and food was stunning - Rabbit and ham hock pie just really really good hearty and fresh food.Service: 5/5
Quirky little pub that has you deceived. It's a lot bigger than think. It's warm and cosy and nothing was too much trouble. 4 of us were fitted in for a meal. The food was hot and tasty. Oh and delicious!Rooms: 5/5
Had a superb meal here. The roast beef and the bread and butter pudding were sublime. Beautiful setting, cosy restaurant and friendly people. Not the cheapest, but well worth every penny.Service: 5/5
Visited Ian and Luda at their beautiful pub on the picturesque road between Bosley, Buxton and Macclesfield. Met with a very warm smiley welcome from Luda and her amazing staff. A beautiful 300 year old proper quaint pub nestled in stunning countryside on the Staffordshire Cheshire border. The Ales were local and beautiful. The menu is locally sourced and varied to suit all palates, the nice touch of locally sourced Game on the menu also was good to see Rabbit, Pheasant and Duck Everything was beautifully presented, freshly cooked and freshness of the ingredients shone through. The prices reflect good quality locally sourced produce cooked perfectly. The menu was excellent and combined with the special board made for a few head scratching moments in a good way Spoilt to choose my main so will have to return Warm, great character to the place, clean and the Staff were excellent from the moment we arrived. Thank you Ian Luda and your staff we will be returning very soon. We could not fault a thing. Just a beautiful evening for my mates birthday meal. A hidden gem that needs to shout its attributes higher and further within our area. Thankyou 10/10
