Went to The Legh Arms for our monthly Book Club. Lovely pub and had a fab atmosphere. The bar staff were so friendly and accommodating. We asked if they could put a cheese board together for us, off menu, and that was no issue at all. The young barman was so super friendly. He would come over and make sure our drinks were topped up and as it was quieter, he carried out table service for drinks for us. Honestly, he made our experience so nice and is a credit to the pub. Sorry i can't remember his name. Would definitely recommend this lovely little village pub
We stayed at the Legh Arms for a wedding nearby. The welcome and check in process was easy. Rooms are fantastic, modern and comfortable with enough space and facilities in the room. We had breakfast in the morning which was great and a good standard of food. The bar area is relaxed, comfy seating with fires and a chilled vibe. We will definitely visit again on a cold winters day for a warm and drink with the dog.
There for a surprise birthday party. Lovely pub, delicious food and very pleasant atmosphere. Be aware the car park isn't very big and I ended up in the local car park which is free. All good except the pathway from car park to main road has no lighting as I found out in the dark as I returned to my car. Obviously nothing to do with Legh Arms but good to know especially for a lone female as I was.
We have visited the Legh Arms for 3 years in a row now, the first time being on our wedding night during lockdown! The rooms are spacious & clean, Fittings and room facilities are to a great standard, and a lovely breakfast with lots of choice and attentive, helpful staff. Amazing value for money in the heart of a lovely village which has lots to offer!
We had the most amazing bacon & egg butties this week. The service was excellent, the staff welcoming and the pub itself is clean and cosy. We took our dog with us and she was made very welcome and enjoyed the biscuits they gave her! Would highly recommend and will be visiting to try the Sunday lunch now!
We have just been for a Sunday Roast. When we arrived, the staff were pleasant but most of the tables were full of dirty dishes and glasses… regret not leaving then! The food was poor and came out cold. They warmed it up for me but food was still poor. The experience was really disappointing. Feel sorry for the staff, they were friendly but seemed to be really understaffed - too often the case for chain pubs! Much much better pubs for a Sunday Roast in the surrounding area.
Have edited my review. We visited again last night after a positive experience previously see below. This time the food was not good at all, so very disappointed. Ate it as starving, but unlikely to want to eat there again. 2 stars for the food, lighting and music - so sorry… Service is good and location lovely 4 and 5 stars deserved. Therefore it’s definitely very a hit and miss experience. Original review: Great service and food. If they turn down the far too bright spot lights and turn off the tinny music it will be even better.
Disappointed as my husband has a severe dairy allergy which we were assured they could deal with as they had before, however this time the chef simply removed the things containing milk, the Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower cheese and mash potatoes, leaving the plate half empty. No substitute offered such as extra veg or Roast potatoes but still charged the same. Really Disappointed
If you choose to stay or visit the Legh Arms, you should look forward to this, as this has been one of the best Hotel/restaurant I have visit in UK. I have had the pleasure to visit this hotel 2 x 5 days in the winter season and there was always a warm welcome at the hotel/bar UK still. The food and drink can not be better. The cozy rooms and the surroundings are just perfect.
We arrived at the Legh Arms and looked at the menu. We didn't like what we saw so left. We soon got a parking ticket from Smart Parking for the ~10 minutes we had been there. £60 as a "discount" and £100 others. We hadn't even seen the signage for this. We sent a letter asking the "Arms" to forgive this and ask the Smart Parking to cancel the PCN. We've not even had a reply, as yet. Watch out! Legh Arms have appointed one of the worst parking management companies, who won't even discuss the issue directly. *** They say there is clear signage, well, we didn't see any, so it's not clear to all. Legh Arms' owners could do a lot better.
