The most amazing dining experience! A must when in Bristol. Beautiful tasting, locally sourced, seasonal produce, creating such delicious dishes. Went with a few heavy meat eaters who found this experience very eye opening to how beautiful vegetable based meals with a side of fish really are. I would advise trying out as many of the dishes as possible - all so so delicious
Root is a small and cozy restaurant in Bristol, situated in quirky shipping containers. The menu is mostly vegetarian with a wide variety of tapas-style dishes meant to share. The cocktails are nice and fresh, perfect for the hot summer. All the dishes were delicious with fresh products and interesting flavours. Personal favourite is the tempura spring onions. The staff are friendly, efficient and smiley. Overall very nice experience, recommend it!
Outstanding lunch here today. Each dish was delicious, had 5 dishes between 2 and a dessert each. Lovely to have such a wide selection of vegetarian options on a menu. Would highly recommend the crispy cauliflower and sprouting broccoli especially! Staff were very friendly and attentive too
Had the most amazing dinner at root! Every dish was interesting to eat and completely different in flavour. We had a selection of dishes however the cod was probably the best cooked fish I've ever had, melted in my mouth. The waiting staff were so friendly and chatty and really knowledgeable about all the dishes and drinks, It felt like a proper experience. Already wanting to go again and dreaming of the food today
Fresh, local, seasonal, veggie- this place ticks all the boxes but also: delicious. We had such a great meal. The spring onions and dumplings especially. Service was really friendly, especially the lady with the short blond hair. She really helped us make good menu choices. Decent cocktail & drinks menu too. Root is in a quieter spot too, so you can have a good conversation away from the crowds. I can’t wait to go back
A personal and friendly service. The dishes we had were divine and great value for the superb quality of the food. Highly recommended. Book in advance to avoid disappointment!
Wow.. this was amazing.. the food was so fresh and tasty. I now have a great appreciation for deep fried lemon.. It really is beautiful food. Felt the service could have been slightly better as our table kept getting missed but the servers were really nice and friendly. The bill was relatively high at the end having had a couple of cocktails each so not in a rush to return but will go back and have told friends!
We had the best Valentine's meal here. The food was absolutely incredible! We are vegan and there were lots of vegan friendly options for us. The service was fast and the staff were really friendly and helpful. My only wish is that I took more pictures of the food, the dishes were like works of art. Highly recommend for a really unique and affordable dinner experience.
6 of us ate last night having heard great reviews. Didn’t disappoint. On the advice of our fab waiter we had one of every dish. Wow what a meal and we were full to bursting even though they were “only” tasting dishes. One of us was vegan and dishes accommodated without fuss. Don’t forget to have the puddings. Thanks again and Happy Christmas to you all the staff. Loved it.
Absolutely amazing dining experience. The food is fantastic and has such great flavour. The staff were friendly and the service quick. The ambience on the terrace is lovely as well! I went for dinner and enjoyed it so much that I came back for lunch later in the week. Especially enjoyed the mackerel and the Pizetta not pictured and the cheesecake pictured.
