We really enjoyed the experience. 7 course unwritten taster menu with accompanying wine flight. Very reasonably priced, at no point did we feel rushed. The front of house team were really lovely. Gave us a little explanation of what we were being served and then again with the wine. Everything was really tasty. Left feeling full and happy. Would highly recommend a visit.
I had a lovely time dining at BOX-E… The place is a bit difficult to find by Google Maps, but I eventually found it by going around the back and up the stairs of the very last shipping container. The servers were very friendly and welcoming and provided me with a great drink recommendation. I did the tasting menu 7 courses, which was an astounding value at only £50. The standout dish was the smoked trout and my least favorite dish was the cheese/cracker plate as you can see from the images, presentation was a bit sloppy. The environment was cozy and quaint, though the majority of seating was outside more suitable for warmer weather. Overall, I had a fine experience at BOX-E and I’d recommend it to anyone in Bristol looking for a unique and affordable tasting menu experience.
BOX-E Offers absolutely stunning dishes paired with a unique dining experience in the heart of the new Wapping Wharf development. We opted for the chefs menu and it did not disappoint with a dish for everyone’s tastes and a stunning dessert. The staff are also warm and welcoming
Just as I expected from a 4 time Michelin guide referenced spot! Food was awesome and I greatly appreciate a small menu because I don't need to choose because we just ordered 1 of everything! Vanilla pannacotta was to die for! Meat and fish well cooked and seasoned and a nice variety of flavours too. Well priced also and polite and attentive staff. Well worth going, I'll definitely be returning.
Came here since it was recommended by Michelin and it did not disappoint. Flavors and taste blended so well together on every dish. I absolutely fell in love with the rice pudding dessert at the end!Food: 5/5
Absolutely amazing! Really happy to cater for me being gluten free as well. The food was incredible and the staff so lovely with huge amounts of information to share. We had the tasting menu that I would highly recommend! I was enjoying it so much I only took one picture!
Absolutely fantastic place. Went here with my mom about a month ago. The chief and his wife - the sommelier - own the restaurant and are both incredibly pleasant and knowledgeable on food and wine. We got the tasting menu and everything was absolutely fantastic. I mean, I wish the scallops had a tiiiiiiny bit more salt but they still were fantastic. The cheese course was mind-blowingly mouthwatering. The desserts were also immensely delicious. We also had the wine pairing and it was great! Some amazing wines with great info given the lady owner, the chief’s wife. Check out the pics below.
An amazing lunch and great service. Each of the dishes was flawless and the matching Riesling also wonderful. Would highly recommend and easily go back.
Great food and exceptional service. Had a vegan tasting menu which can be hit and miss when you go to a meat-first place. It was clear the Box-E team are passionate about food and creating lovely flavours regardless of whether it’s an animal or plant based meal.
Went to Box-E with my partner for their taster menu. Each dish was an absolute delight and the Lidstone team are always so welcoming and pleasant. Will be coming here for years to come!
