Any positive reviews on here I’d be extremely suspicious of. They started off nice- seemingly helpful and informative, but then our tenancy began. From black mould which was there before we moved in, to broken boilers, they were useless. They just didn’t care. Don’t be deceived by the initial friendly impressions. At the end of the tenancy, we were met with incredibly rude service. They tried to take a huge amount off our deposits, despite the place being spotless definitely more clean than when we moved in!. That’s currently having to go through the DPS. On top of that, one thing I did accidentally do is leave a drier full of clothes, for which after handing in the keys I contacted them with a long apology to say I’m really sorry I think I left some clothes in the drier! Employee Matt replied very simply, and I quote, “any clothes left in the property will have been disposed of.” They then went on to take £63 off all 5 of our deposits £315. They didn’t just bin my clothes, they charged us a ridiculous account for it too. They also charged my Italian housemate Gabriele rent, bills and reductions despite him not once stepping foot in the property he was stuck in Italy. Anyway, students do not use unless you want to be bullied!
DO NOT RENT FROM THIS AGENT! The staff are the most unprofessional and unhelpful people I have ever dealt with. They are incredible slow to deal with any maintenance issues, sometimes leaving them for months. We currently have a large puddle of stagnant dirty water caused by blocked drains which is a severe health and safety hazard and RMP has refused to sort the problem until we leave which is in another month. I repeat do not rent from this agent.
I would not recommend renting with RMP properties. Unfortunately despite initially being impressed with the location and price of the flat it soon became clear that as landlords they cared far more about financial gain than the comfort and satisfaction of their tenants. When our heating broke in November, it took them over three weeks to correctly fix it and even then it was still dodgy which is not something I think is acceptable when you are being charged for heating despite not being able to use it during the coldest points of winter. However, my biggest complaint is surrounding their handling of our deposit repayment as I feel it was unprofessional. Frankly it was an embarrassing attempt at trying to claim deductions from our deposit for things such as emptying hoovers or re-cleaning toilets which I full well know I bleached. This especially annoyed me considering that when we arrived in September we felt the need to re-clean the flat, so I know for a fact this money they claimed for cleaning purposes is not going towards cleaning. Furthermore, as soon as the keys were handed back I found the staff became very cold and unfriendly not even bothering to reply to the email I sent them. The only reason I am leaving 2 stars as opposed to one is because they were one of the only companies which would allow us a flexible tenancy, extending month by month. As language students who were waiting to travel, this was very convenient.
Awful company, bad communication, unlawful business practices. They forget to pay bills for a "bills included" flat, leading to power disconnection 4 seperate times. Staff were rude, unhelpful and without sympathy. Avoid this company, there are much better.
In contrast to our current landlord, RMP Properties really falls short! Pick who you rent with carefully, especially students, as too many try to take advantage of you. Always take into consideration reviews, because what might seem like a cheap deal isn’t worth it if you have to battle with your landlord.
Good property at a good price, however lacking responses for rent overpayment and deposit claim for over 2 months without a suitable response from them. Cleaning of the property was needed to be done by the tenants upon moving in, and yet they claim money from deposit for 'cleaning' and massively overcharged for this. Unresponsive to minor maintenance issues. Edit: Full deposit was paid back to us by DPS after 5 months of waiting make sure you have evidence ready if moving into their properties
Initially me and my partner believed that RMP was a decent lettings agency. However, when it came to the end of our tenancy we discovered otherwise. They have tried to charge ridiculous cleaning costs off of our deposit, even though the flat was left completely clean and tidy throughout. Also a few items left in the flat which they had told us would be kept aside for us to pick up have now just been thrown away. Would definitely not recommend this lettings agency.
When I rented a property which was managed by RMP they tried to invoice myself and the two other tenants for "bags of rubbish left in the property" which were actually bags and boxes of our clothing and belongings as we were still trying to pack when they sent people over to take pictures and take an inventory. They also tried to charge us extortionate cleaning fees despite the property being immaculate when we left. The staff were abrupt and unhelpful and didn't seem to be in any hurry to fix problems when we reported them. 100% wouldn't recommend.
