Incredible museum to check out! Essentially it's a transport museum which houses an amazing amount of cars, bikes, prams, carriages, trams and even a few trains! Plus a Victorian street with shop displays, a subway area, some quirky vehicles the Jurassic park ones were my favourite and of course the tall ship.nThe area can get pretty crowded, especially if there's a school group so wheelchair users may have to take it slow, is accessible including lifts, just some narrow areas if there's a large number of people. You can pay to board the ship, plus there's a cafe, shop and toilets.nnGreat place to check out
Excellent experience at the Riverside Museum. There's plenty to see and learn with historical artefacts and movie props to modern technology innovations. There are cafes inside for light snacks and gift shops. There are multiple accessible toilets and a changing room one too. Everything is accessible even a lift to see the top of the engine of the locomotive steam trains. The place is really well thought out and must be one of our favourite museums. There is a tall ship outside fees apply if you want to learn more about the ship building days. There is disabled parking nearby fees applies the car parking machine only accepts coins or use the phone app. Highly recommend if you're nearby.
Well worth a visit, huge range of different means of transport from down the ages, with some good and interesting historical interpretation. If you are of a certain age, see how many types of vehicles you have travelled in or owned over the years. Well laid out and seemingly accessible to all. Obviously entry is free, but donations are more than welcome. There is a small entry charge to board the tall ship, outside the museum.
My first visit to the museum, stunning building. Great variety of exhibits, but a shame that many of the vehicles are displayed high above the floor, and not as easy to view the finer details. There is an upper deck that you can walk over, but still not as good as when it used to be at the Kelvin Hall all those years ago, when I loved to visit in my childhood!nThe old street is good, and very interesting to look inside the reconstructions of old subway, shops and other old shops.
Busy school holiday day. Lots to see, including a full street, two full-size steam trains, lots of cars, buses and trams and a rather large boat. The main museum is free but save up pound coins for parking or use the ringGo appgood luck finding it on the App Store. There was even a dinosaur outside!!??!!
