An absolute must for McIntosh fans!nMcIntosh house is certainly the highlight of this collection and definitely worth the ticket if you're into design/ McIntosh.nThe rest of th collection doesn't disappoint either so certainly well worth the visit when in Glasgow.nFriendly staff and a nice little shop too.
Great gallery with an optional extra of going into the Rennie Macintosh house whi h has been recreated using all original things from his house
Excellent arts. They have small area for children to play the Lego’s, painting the colours, make the designs with different forms etc. small children’s will really enjoy the place where parents have the look on the galleries.
Don’t miss the Mackintosh House! It is well worth the ticket. It’s just exquisite, almost startling in its delicate beauty and craftsmanship. A feast for the eyes. The permanent collection is also lovely, and grouped by interesting themes, rather than the usual staid chronology. A must when in Glasgow, made even more pleasant by the cheerful staff.
I had been wanting to visit this gallery for some time and was so impressed! It's the perfect size with some beautiful, unique paintings showcasing some of Scotland's finest artists of which there are many! I spent approx. 2 hours moseying around before making my way to the Mackintosh House which is adjacent to the art gallery. It is equally impressive, housing lots of original CRM furniture. A lovely male member of staff talked to me about some of the pieces including pointing out some of the stunning, original brass lampshades which originally would have been lit by gas. Highly recommend a visit :-
