One of the best C&M Club sites we have stayed at. It is a large site but the layout of little enclaves among the trees makes it feel smaller. Staff very pleasant and helpful; toilet block is large and well maintained and the site is visited by various food vendors across the week. Carsington Water is only a 10 minute walk from the site entrance and an even shorter cycle ride. Plenty of beautiful scenery and interesting places to visit are within an easy drive.
Beautiful site, immaculately kept. Although it's a large site it feels small as the pitches are grouped into different areas. The dog walk is the best I've seen and you can walk from the site to Carsington water
The site was amazing but we wouldn't go back, the grumpy, jobs worth of a site warden spoilt it for us before we got through the gate. We where thirty minutes early for check in - easily done after a long drive -. He watched us from his mobile home situated near reception, couldn't even be bothered coming over to see us, instead he shouted directions to my wife over the fence, ' your too early and can't wait there , go away and come back in half an hour.' We had to back the caravan down the long drive, park up elsewhere for 20 minutes, when we got back there was long a queue to reception!!! He never smiled the whole weekend and took great pleasure making people feel uncomfortable. Do us all a favour and retire or at least get a job in a museum which would be more fitting!!!
Really lovely site, well maintained with really helpful friendly staff. All the pitches are well kept and situated in a small woodland so lots of wildlife all around. Only a stones throw from carsington reservoir which is lovely to walk around. There are a couple of children's play areas on site, they also have a chip van on site on a friday night and a man cooking pizza in a wood oven on a saturday
As good as always and although we don't have a dog we really enjoyed the circular dog walk. Staff excellent.. I am sick of getting my shoes wet from the anti-syphon devices on the Elsan taps and the one nearest reception is the worst ever.
A pleasant, quiet campsite located a short walk from Carsington Water. Six miles from Ashbourne with pubs, shops and cafes. Facilities toilet/shower block, play areas are for campers only. Friendly staff.
Well ... what can I say reading some of the reviews of negativity Did put me off going a little bit but I'm SO glad I ignored them I feel some people don't research were there visiting enough before going and as I see it site rules are in place for all to adhere too so everyone can enjoy there stay if people choose to ignore the rules of the site this will cause the issues that I read My experience was fantastic ...peace and tranquility in a boundance The wardens were very polite and helpful I loved listening to the silence at night except for the touting of the owl it was beautiful I absolutely enjoyed my visit and we will be back 100% The pizzas were really tasty my only criticism if I had to is the pizzas could of been a bit bigger for the price because it was so tasty I didn't want it to end the people running the pop up pizza van we're really nice too I loved and enjoyed my stay at this site an cant wait to return Beautiful,Beautiful place Thank you all at carrsington water caravan and motorhome camp site See you all very soon
Large-ish pitches among the trees. No view of lake. Trees make most pitches dark and dingy. Dog walk insists dogs to be on a lead which is no fun for most dogs. Staff perfunctory, not at all helpful, toilet/shower block closed 10.45-12 every day for cleaning not great in hot weather after packing away and you need to be off pitch by 12 and want a quick shower/loo before leaving. No phone signal at all. Very fussy rules/regulations but then not upheld. Children screaming, flying around whole site on bikes and while I was there throwing stones at one another over people's cars! I won't be back.
Lovely site amongst pine trees. Shower block very clean. Staff very welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. Very close to Carsington Waters for walking or cycling. Cyclist need to be aware of children and the elderly on the footpaths.
Just to the side of Carsington water, it's easily within walking distance. There are two cattle grids on the entrance road followed by a slight incline. Small car park with new arrivals lane. There's a little shop on site selling necessities and a small play area. Entry is via a barrier with guests getting an access fob to come and go. There is a toilet & shower block and these are the cleanest and most well presented I've seen to date. Very impressive. They do have people come on site and do fish & chips or stone baked pizza. We found the pizza to be a tad expensive for what it was though. Chemical disposal, dish washing, drying room etc were also very well looked after. Late arrivals after 8pm will have to stay in the area in the car park, although water and electricity are provided. Most pitches are hard standing. Plan your route to here carefully it could take you up Cromford Hill, which is really steep or take you through the winding streets of Belper....otherwise you should be good.
