Great canal side location. Good prices and nicely decorated/furnished. Excellent dog food/treats barService: 4/5
Only popped in for a drink today. Lovely traditional pub with a wide selection of Sir Woofchesters dog treats. Reminds me of being in York inside. Lovely young lady behind the bar too. Will be coming in here more.Rooms: 5/5
Sunday lunch. Average food. Some item clearly not home made. Lamb and beef overcooked but maybe personal preference. Few quid more than I would expect verses quality. Nice pub and great friendly staff. Good selection of beers too. Edit: if you've ever cooked a home made Yorkies, you'll know they dont come out the oven with a perfectly edge atop! Roasties shouldn't look like Aunt Bettles especually if they aren't!?
Four of us visited on a Saturday night. We all enjoyed the food which was piping hot and excellently cooked. The landlord and landlady were lovely and couldnt do enough for us. The pub itself has been fully renovated is spotless and very warm and comfortable. A couple of the rooms are dog friendly which is good if you take your dog for a walk along the canal and then can call in for a drink or lunch etc. We will definitely use the outside beer garden in Summer - take our dogs, have lunch and maybe listen to one of the brass bands they often have booked. In conclusion a lovely pub/restaurant which is well worth a visit with friendly people who care about their customers.
Right on the canal bank. Beautiful views and a pleasant atmosphere. Service was great, just stayed for drinks. Lovely and big garden area which has smoking and non smoking sections.Service: 5/5
Warmly greeted by the landlord after travelling for an hour to celebrate my sisters wedding anniversary at our favourite traditional pub. The servers are so attentive, friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble and the warm and cosy atmosphere is fantastic. My Sunday roast had a very generous serving of melt in the mouth beef. The well cooked fluffy roast potatoes and swede mash were so full of flavour. Truly in food heaven after savouring my delicious desert of golden syrup sponge and custard - yummy! Love the great table service only idea. Drinks were served within minutes of ordering even though the pub was busy. The pricing is very reasonable considering the home cooked food is prepared to a very high standard with tasty quality ingredients. Can't recommend the Ring O' Bells highly enough for great food, great service in a picturesque location.
Nice place, although let down the inability to browse and order at the bar. This loses the welcoming feel of a traditional pub. Edit to business reply: Hopefully the landlord/lady is keeping an eye on how their management are responding to friendly feedback and opt to address this soon. I don't think there is anything wrong with offering table service, quite the opposite. My point was that the old fella behind the bar quickly ushers new customers away when they arrive and want to browse what drinks are available before sitting down. I'd love to know what's actually wrong with standing near a bar in a public house to be fair? Perhaps another sign could be introduced to avoid this confusion...
We went as a family for Father's day Sunday lunch. Excellent food, great service, very friendly atmosphere. They also have regular brass band concerts outside in their beautiful garden by the canal side.Service: 4/5
Brill experience, proper pub restaurant - food and drinks. Highly recommended. And rugby - brill. Nearby activities: Next to the canal. Great outdoor patio.- with canal view. Safety: Best pub in the area for looking after safety and welfare. Food & drinks: Great home cooked food.
Well. It is a lovely pub in a great location. Garden is lovely over look at the canal. My only issue is the gentleman who seems to be the owner. Very confronting and ever so slightly comes as rude. Or better say need to brush his customer service. He came to us saying you can drink but can not serve you food. Which is perfectly OK but the way he said it was the issue. Anyway the staff though are great. The drinks are great and by the taste of the beer you can see they put a lot of care and attention to cleaning the pipes, etc.
