The Red Lion brings you finely executed, classic British food served by a multi-award winning team in traditional but stylish surroundings.

Story

After over four years of experience in catering for functions, we consider our pub the perfect place to hold an important event. We have managed to build a reputation for meeting the various needs of customers and going that extra mile.

Our lovely panel room is the perfect place for any function with space for upto 100 guests. If the party size is larger than this we can arrange to possibly extend into the main restaurant.

This is a very much improved venue that attracts a wide range of people- couples, dog walkers, families, retirees, solo drinkers, groups of young people. All sorts. And it works! Great atmosphere We didn't eat but staff were efficient and drink choice fab!

It's more of a restaurant than a pub. It's trying to be posh! It's actually quite nice in side and the staff seem fun and friendly, except the manager guy... Food was very good. Main will set you back about £14 and £5 for pudding or a starter. We really enjoyed our meal there and had some good fun cocktails.

We held my son's 21st birthday party at The Red Lion. Dean and his team couldn't have done more for us. They set the place up so nicely with fairy lights and tea lights before we arrived and allowed us to add our own decorations. They looked after us royally during the whole evening and even gave us our own hostess to serve drinks and food. Everybody commented how amazing the food was and my Son said that he had had the "best flipping night of his life". It was also great value for money. Thanks to you all but especially Vicky, Dean and Joe.

Had a lunch with the family. Chose to have sandwiches and chips! Gosh what a cheap selection of sandwiches for a very high price. I've served better crispy lettuce at home. The bread was dry and the meat was dry. Why served chips in a metal basket looks cheap. I would of thought it would of been like a open sandwich with crisp fresh salad and home made coleslaw. £7 a head for a bit of meat two slices of bread, limp lettuce, and a small amount of what looked and tasted like shop bought coleslaw. Mmm would I go again? Definitely not!

Booked twice and were not told 50% off main meals offer, so feel cheated. We have been going here for several years and always enjoy the food. We have to call to book as we have a Wheelchair user. Have been twice in last month and on last visit on way out I noticed a sign near door that said if you book online between 16/10 and 30/11/17 you get 50% off main meals. We were never told of this offer and i feel somewhat cheated. I would have thought it good customer relations to tell customers of this? I have previously left 5 star reviews on Trip Advisor specifically because they were good at things like this. We don’t have a lot of money and these meals are a break fir my wife caring for me and our disabled children. The offer would have been great to be able to use and as we visited twice equates to a full price main each potential saving. A let down I feel for what is usually a great place.
