Story

Freshly cooked breakfasts
Early mornings in Padstow are full of fresh sea air and a calming tranquillity, tainted only by the arousing smell of our freshly cooked breakfasts. We serve dishes such as layered granola compote, huevos rancheros or the classic English breakfast.

Coffee and cake
Freshly ground Origin coffee and homemade cakes and sweet treats can be enjoyed between 10.30 and 12noon.

Light lunches
From steak sandwiches to salt and pepper prawns our café has a temping selection of fresh light lunches.

Relaxed dinners
Enjoy an informal dinner with dishes such as char-grilled Cornish rib-eye steak, lamb and spinach karahi curry and salt cod stew.

Family friendly
Our relaxed and informal café is perfect for family get-togethers and special occasions. We have activity sheets to keep the children entertained as well as high chairs, a children's menu and baby changing facilities.

To eat here was one of those things we have always wanted to do, and it did not disappoint. The service was superb the setting in the courtyard as we had our dog was lovely with heaters put on for us to take the chill away and music to set the atmosphere. The food was every bit as tantalising as we thought it would be leaving a lovely zing on our pallets for ages . We will certainly remember this visit.
We had a very pleasant evening here. The food was actually exceptionally good. Although I didn't get the lobster, which I was really looking forward to, as it was out, I was very pleased with the alternative programme. Crab linguine as a starter, and sea bass as a main course. Really recommendable! The service was a pleasant mix of professional and casual. Prices more than reasonable. I would happily return!nMarc from Germany
It was nice I wasn’t blown away by the food it is down as a Bib Gourmand in the Michelin guide so that set expectations high and it was tasty and satisfying great cooking but although the prices aren’t exactly value. £130 for 5 dishes maybe it’s about right although I was charged £190 and had to go back and get a refund which I put down as an honest mistake but kind of left me wondering about money rather than the food I had eaten. I have eaten at other Bib Gourmand places that have left me much more satisfied. Didn’t really understand the prawn starter it was nice but am I supposed to eat it with the knife and fork or my fingers. Did both in the end and was fairly plain tasting prawns. The smattering of garnish was tastier. Worth a bash but wouldn’t rush back.
Went here for a light lunch with my mother. A lot of spicy dishes on the menu which doesn't suit my mother, but they were very willing to adapt chilli levels to suit her. I had the Pondicherry curry, which was absolutely delicious. Staff were wonderful. Thank you!
My wife and I watched Rick Stein hundreds of times for decades on BBC, always loved his style and simplicity. Unfortunately my wife could not experience this, she died nearly 4 years ago now.nnBoth the food and service were beyond expectation.nVery fresh and tasty Asian flavours.nnFood is much better than for instance Hand & Flowers.nnService is so much better than The Waterside Inn, that was a horrible experience the food there was from mediocre to very good.
