Title: Check-in Frustration Visited Richmond Medical Center for a 3:15 PM appointments on 16 Jan 2024. Checked in at 3:05 PM, but at 4:00 PM, we were told we hadn't checked in. Rushed in after clarification. Frustrating as front desk didn't acknowledge the issue. Despite showing phone info in English, they repeated the doctor's name, hinting our pronunciation was off. Hoping for better communication and smoother check-in.
Recently moved to this doctors surgery due to moving house and had to make my first visit yesterday after noticing an infection starting in my cheek. I was first seen by two lovely student doctors who really took an interest and asked me all the relevant questions to try and help. They then went to go and speak to the doctor who looked in my mouth for all of 30 seconds and told me categorically that it was not an infection but didnt offer any other ideas for a diagnosis. She simply advised painkillers. Unhappy with the advice given as I was still in pain and getting worse, I took it upon myself to contact 111 who told me I needed to be seen by an emergency dentist within the next 24 hours. Cut a long story short, I do have an infection and quite a severe one. I am now on antibiotics for the next week and have had to spend £57 at a private clinic to get the treatment that the doctor quite frankly wasn't prepared to give me. If I'd simply just followed the doctors advice and gone home with a packet of paracetamol and not pushed to receive the medical treatment I clearly required, who knows how bad this infection could have gotten.
This medical practice hasn't changed, they pretend to listen, use platitudes, and then do nothing. I have had three GP appointments for tennis elbow. The first palmed me off with pain killers, the second told me I had to go to A&E for a potential fracture, which led to me sitting in A&E for two hours, only to be told by an orthopaedic consultant that I shouldn't be there and the GP should know better than to send me in for tennis elbow, as I needed a Steroid injection, and to go back to them. The Third GP promised me a referral for a Steroid injection, only to have Physiotherapy call me, stating that he hadn't referred me for a Steroid injection, only physio. I've been in severe pain since May, and am no further forward. I've tried complaining, nothing works, maybe a few bad social media reviews will?!?
The doctor called my mother in laws carer at her care home today early morning 09.36 and said he would have the prescription ready/signed off at 4pm. However as I write this review at 10pm my mother in law has been in tremendous pain all day and the pain relief wont be available for another two hours. If I’d took a dog to the vets I’m sure pain relief would have been administered straight away. This doctor should be reprehended by the NHS.
Awful service given, you wait for 20 mins on hold and then offered appointment, but doctor does not call back. Then receptionists who act like doctors called Belinda gives very rude attitude on the phone to patients. I do not recommend this practice. Services have dropped drastically.
Used this practice for years. Always had availability for appointments, receptionist always helpful. Not anymore. No appointments, you ring at the times given to call then on hold for up to 30 min, to be told no appointments available. Receptionists rude, unhelpful. Not the same, terrible practice,
All staff are wonderful apart from 1 receptionist called jodie. She doesn't even let you get a word in edge ways and doesn't care to listen also.. ive also seen her give other patients and myself dirty looks absolute disgrace to richmond medical centre
This is the kind of practice where you almost never manage to get an appointment because because of how they operate. You have to phone at 8.30am to ask for an appointment. At that time, everybody rings so it's up to chance if you get through to someone or you just get the 'line busy' tones. When you eventually get through to someone, all the appointments are gone. I would be very interested to see a percentage of how many of the calls they get in the morning actually get an appointment, since I so rarely seem to get one. Must be really low. Staff at reception is unwilling to listen to any sort of feedback and instead treat you with the 'ohh shut up already' attitude. Headstrong and never take anything onboard so it's very unlikely they'll ever change. On the bright side, if you do.manage to get an appointment they're alright.
Came in this morning with my mom for a B12 injection, on the way to surgery my mom cut her hand and Bianca cleaned and dressed it for her, so very kind and I’m very grateful, wonderful nurse, thank you so much
A fabulous surgery! Cannot fault it. Due to the vigilance of Dr Matiopouli and staff - my husband’s diagnosis was quickly acted upon. Thank you for all you do . Mary Johnson
