Just awful. It's impossible to get any kind of professional healthcare appointment. Staff on the phone appear to go out of their way to be difficult, obstructive and utterly unhelpful. You're told to phone up at 0800 on the day for an appointment, but this never works out. The callback system doesn't appear to work either. Just ineffective and painful in every possible way.
I have got MS, EPILEPSY, COPD, before the diagnosis of this lot I had the doctors kept saying that I had sciatica. But I had CES SYNDROME, left with irreparable right leg nervous damage. with u since 1980. not seen the doc awell ov 3y bec u try 2gt ap.. here's a thought look after ur own how much u get a patient.. shambles, disgusting. .. absolutely disuse of trust. Since I had my dietician request every time I have got my prescription it's wrong and out of the whole time. ..3y I've asked said repeated but it's on the system.. so why not. .?
Spent 2 hours waiting on hold which is the same every single day, to be told I can't be connected to reception. This surgery is the worst I've ever known. Always loads of calls in the queue but once you'vr had enough of waiting and actually go there the phone is hardly ringing and all the receptionists are just talking behind the counter with out a care in the world. No wonder theres always 30+ calls in the queue from 8am to 6pm monday to friday.
I have had the worse experience at this surgery , receptionist was so rude with lots of attitude, my 5 yr old daughter ended up in hospital due to not having the right inhaler due to her asthma , for weeks they kept perscribing the wrong inhaler totally no idea what there doing . That’s not the first time so no longer there !! God help any older patient s that need help strongly advise go somewhere that will help .
I rang Meadowside this morning on behalf of my husband to order his medication only to be denied by the most rude receptionist by the name of Pat who said he had got to ring in himself I explained his job wouldn’t allow him to do that but she wasn’t having any of that so still no tablets she needs to go!!!!!!
Horrifically bad. Terrible service, impossible to get an appointment and just fobbed me off as irrelevant and unimportant. Rude, condescending receptionist who didn't listen to a word I said and had no interest in understanding my medical history. I don't go to the doctors often - I hate going to be fair. It usually gets pretty bad before I decide to call. I previously spoke to what sounded like a younger lady - she was great. The older sounding lady I spoke with was awful. Seriously awful. She genuinely should be ashamed of herself. The entire clinic should.
I'd give you zero stars if I could. No matter when I call there is always a queue above 30. After 1hour and 56 minutes you cut me off. AGAIN. There are never any appointments available, even for a medication review. Absolute shambles.
Absolutely terrible, been at this surgery now for 30 years never have I had such poor service. This week I called at 8.00am for an urgent appointment, got through at 10.05 and then 30 minutes later got a text to say no appointments left! Same next day so I called 111 and they took 6 hours to respond by which time I was being treated in A&E!
Honestly, I wish I could rate lower than 1 star. The issues I've had over the past year with the surgery has been numerous, dangerous, and shocking. Some of the complaints are personal but I will detail the most recent here. I have just left Heartlands hospital with oral antibiotics due to the complete lack of beds for a drip antibiotic. Last week I was in agony with my ear that I had problems with for 3 weeks prior and consistently fobbed off. I rang to get an appointment as the pain was spreading. I have had problems with my ear my whole life so knew I needed to see someone urgently. They refused saying I was not a priority p something decided by the receptionist. My mother rushed to the surgery to try and get me an appointment. She was made to leave because the reception at said she couldn’t call me with my mother in the surgery. I was told on the phone by a rude receptionist that I was not priority and to go to Spec savers. I asked which one? She said any. I go to the nearest one and wait outside for it to open. Cold and in pain. I was sent to a different one across town that dealt with ears. They can’t see anyone for ears until January. I ring the surgery back only to be told to go to the pharmacy as I am not a priority. I explained the issues I’ve had with my ears, the constant perforations and the agony I am in. She replied “Well, I’ve had several perorations and I’m fine.” This woman has not looked at my medical history, she doesn’t know the extent of the infection, she hasn’t even seen me, as well as not being medically trained. I go to the pharmacy in tears with pain and they are fed up. They don’t know why I have been sent there. There is nothing they can do. They tell me to go back to the surgery and insist on an appointment saying they have a duty of care and to speak to the practice manager. I go to the surgery. As soon as I say you have a duty of care and I want to speak to the practice manager there’s an appointment available for me. She doesn’t have to speak or check with anyone. Suddenly I am a priority. I insist on speaking to the practice manager about the issues I’ve had with the reception team. One truly awful one where I was judged for a medical procedure and blamed for it. The manager says she understands and will talk to her team as well as be there later when I have my appointment. I arrive for my appointment and there are no staff on reception. Two are in the back. The line is ever growing and patients are left with no one answering. The practice manager was nowhere to be found. I vomitted from the spreading infection at the doctor’s. It had spread to my sinus and tonsils. I was then prescribed an antibiotic mainly for skin conditions due to the amoxicillin shortage. I have spent all day trying to sort out my agonising ear pain. I needed different antibiotics. I had to go to hospital because 2 doctors thought it had spread to my bones and might have infected my brain. I am on oral antibiotics for it. Hopefully I will be able to hear in that ear soon. The reception team is despicable in their treatment of people. I don’t see how they can pick and choose who is a priority as she got an appointment as soon as I was going to complain while passing medical judgement with no qualifications. Just because they have had an illness does not give them the right to deny healthcare as they are not knowledgable about the possible complications, risks, and dangers. It was incredibly rude, callous, and cruel to listen to me cry in pain and pass judgment when she knows nothing of my medical history. I am looking to change doctors as soon as possible because I have no faith in their ability to provide adequate healthcare and basic people skills.
The receptionists decided to look at my scan results and make a medical diagnosis of thier own and then not pass the results onto my GP. The scan was to check there wasnt cancer... there's a lump still and was told before the test id need an opporation to remove the huge lump and also a stone radiology told me on day of stone too i didn't hear back anything for months after the test so became rather worried.... i called up to be told by the receptionist that there was no concern even though the test was to check it wasnt a tumor and it hadn't been passed onto a doctor or to worry... i was told they would pass it on... another week went by so i called back again to be told that im normal and it hadnt been passed onto a doctor... ive been in pain and discomfort for ages now and i still need an operation. Both me and my gp were ignored by these receptionists... they're not medical practitioners but took it upon themselves to make medical decisions causing me pain and discomfort aswell as mental anguish for not knowing if it was cancer for months... absolutely disgusting and probably illegal
