Great food, we had the tasting menu. It was paired well with the wine flight. Only downside (like many Michelin star restaurants) unfortunately was the speed of the service. Ambience was okay, although the music was a little quiet and as the evening went on and the restaurant began to empty there was a less vibrant ambience. Would definitely go again, probably one of my favourite restaurants in Edinburgh.

Every single dish was covered in oil, cream and butter. I found the food extremely rich - not good for your heart and stomach. The menu was different from what we had looked online so we didn't know what was comng to us in the end. I didn’t think the food was particularly healthy. I wish I could get my money back. People looked a bit snooty and almost everyone in the room was of an older age. If you’re looking for fun and laughter where you can relax, this certainly isn’t for you. Like someone said the best part of the experience was leaving the restaurant.

Spectacular dining experience. The finest service I have ever had, an imaginative menu, and stellar wine pairings made our 2 1/2 hour lunch fly by far too quickly. And it was one of the few times I've been to such a highly rated establishment and actually felt comfortable and welcome - the staff genuinely want you to enjoy your visit and come back again. This is the definition of destination dining.

Fantastic food, welcoming staff, totally unpretentious for this kind of dining. Would recommend to anyone. The duck in particular was truly amazing.

Had the 4 course autumn menu, with 2 glasses of wine. Everything was excellent, and the service is great too. My wife is 36 weeks pregnant, and they offered to change anything she wanted (like cooking the meat a little more). You don't get much change from £10 when ordering a glass of wine, but I didn't really mind as I wanted something as good as the food.
