Story

Ondine is a proper seafood restaurant. From the first day that Ondine's doors opened, we wanted to create an atmosphere
where people can roll up their sleeves and truly relax. Based in the heart of Edinburgh's historic Old Town, we offer the finest seafood
and shellfish from the East Coast of Scotland and beyond. Our emphasis is on the fishermen who provide us with the freshest and most
sustainable produce, which we celebrate with knowledgeable yet satisfying cooking.

Celebrated my dad's 70th here. All spectacular but can't recommend the deep fried oysters highly enough! I love oysters anyway but these were delicious (and my wife who's normally not a fan couldn't get enough of them!). Service was impeccable. Attentive but not overbearing.

When I was planning to go to Edinburgh for my birthday I was looking for a nice restaurant to try. Edinburgh has such good options that it was difficult to decide, but couldn't be more happy with the outcome. The food was great, and the shellfish platter was amazing. It has a very good variety of sea food and in definitely coming back for oysters some time. Also I must say that the atmosphere although elegant is very cosy and relaxed, perfect for a date or time out with family and friends.

I went to Ondine in 2013 and again this year (2018). The standard has not dropped. Had the hot seafood sharing platter. Smashing.

Such a bad experience at Ondine restaurant. The main is reason is the noise, you can’t heard the person next to you because the acoustic is so noisy inside. In terms of seafood I have been so disappointed because the size of the platter was more as a starter. However the quality of food was good but I can’t recommend this restaurant because according to me there is a big discrepancy between price and the delivery.

Fantastic food, would thoroughly recommend! Not a bad word to say about the whole experience. Staff were friendly, helpful and extremely attentive. Food was fresh and delicious.
