I was fortunate to come here for an operation through the NHS, and the whole experience was great. The room was lovely and clean with a nice window and all the staff were lovely. Special shout out to the nurses who were kind and attentive and made my whole stay a lot more comfortable and relaxed.
If I could give zero stars I would. My mother has been scheduled for a hand operation for months. The first appointment got cancelled as he needed to leave work early and “she was the only one he could cancel” then the second appointment, she gets there, waits 2 hours only to be told by the doctor in a flippant manor that he doesn’t have the correct equipment and can’t “wing it.” In between all this she’s had multiple calls questioning what anaesthetic she’s suppose to have because she’s been down for 2, including an epidural? For a hand operation. Can anyone tell me the correct procedure to get my mother transferred to a different doctor? We’ve not had this before.
Had knee replacement 18 months ago and it went wrong. So had to have a manipulation under anaesthetic 3 months later. I was told I would be called back for X-ray to check that the implant in place and nothing wrong. So after complaining couple of months ago I was still in pain and experiencing noises and feels wrong. I got appointment for two months time. Just to come along today to find out it has just been cancelled on me without letting me know. Then booked in for another months time early morning which is difficult for me but if I can’t make that it’s another months wait in pain and suffering . So they no interested in aftercare for NHS patients
Safe and caring hospital. Staff seem genuinely happy to be caring for you and to be at work. Dr Sharma who I had the pleasure of being under, has a fantastic team. Would highly recommend.
Firstly I was forgotten about at Buckshaw Village Hospital by gynaecologist then it has been passed over and I’ve had to drive from Preston to Ormskerk which is not convenient I am award young woman who has had a child and had issues since so I was advised to go to the clinic. After waiting several months I finally got to see a consultant then he retired and was told that he now works at this hospital. I finally got to see him after several weeks of waiting once again and he examined me and said that I need a prescription which will take 10 to 14 days to get to my doctors. I have been waiting weeks now and I have rung this hospital and they have forgotten about me saying it is short staffed that is not my issue at the end of the day I am struggling myself no wonder peoples mental health are bad when the patients get forgotten about! I should not be suffering like this at my age due to lack of staff my prescription has been forgotten about and when it comes for me to call back to see the doctor it’s not going to give me enough time so now I have to rearrange all my appointments disgusted he’s not the word.
I pay as self referal. And I sent to them private GP referral. However, they reject to give me a copy of my report.
Despite the negative experience, a very comprehensive review of the issues was undertaken and was given a very thorough response. It was refreshing that they didn't just deflect the issues or try to justify them - they were open and transparent I am sure they will implement the their proposed changes. Original review: My care at Renacres was a complete shambles and it resulted in me cancelling my operation. If you have worries or concerns it's probably best not to call them as the only thing it will do is raise your blood pressure. Their phone system makes it impossible to speak to anyone and when you can you get diverted to voicemails and answer phones. I was worried about the impact of existing condition upon my operation and they just didn't listen to my concerns properly. There was no option to speak directly with medical staff - I was literally going to have to wait until just before the operation to speak to the anaesthetist about my existing issues. A frustrating, infuriating experience which has made me consider cancelling my medical insurance. Update: A very helpful lady who is the matron has been trying to assist me further and has spoken to the consultant however the admin team are just chaotic at every turn. I was advised that I should have been given the opportunity to have a pre op appointment with the anaesthetist given the circumstances - for some reason an admin person decided that this wasn't possible or needed. I proactively cancelled my operation and should have been removed from the list. As it turned out the anaesthetist was unavailable on the planned operation day and they contacted to rearrange despite having cancelled. I have warned my medical insurer of this and not to pay any claims. I was offered a 'free of charge' appointment to see the consultant to see what we do next and have just received a letter confirming it and asking my to contact my insurer to authorise this. You may have a much better experience of this hospital but my lasting impression is that the admin of your treatment will be a shambles and you can't contact them by telephone. I can't really comment on the medical team but have found them to be friendly and helpful.
from meeting with doctor didn't know important information then told they cant do the opp he came acroos rude in doing this
Fantastic service with very friendly staff. I was looked after with care and comfort.
