I returned a £350 coat to the store because the fastening had broken, I was appalled with the response and tone of voice from the manager, she said "We can repair it ". I said it was not fit for purpose and would like a new one or my money back, as is my statutory rights. The manager said she had no authority to replace the coat so she had to phone head office, who also thought it would be a good idea to repair a coat that I had worn a handful of times. After repeating my request many times and saying that this was my right the manager said "OK have a new coat, we will have the other one repaired and sell it in the store." What, really? Is it your policy to sell second-hand repaired products in your stores? You need to review your policy - it states on your receipts and in store that "Your statutory rights are not affected" but clearly your store managers are encouraged not to abide by them.
