Argos shops are good place to find products at an affordable price however you might have to sacrifice the quality often though. At Cambridge Argos you probably won't get everything you see on website (no idea about Argos in other areas). I bought many house hold and kitchen stuffs which are amazingly good in its price range. Once I ordered something for which I had to wait 2 months and go to the shop at least for times and finally they said they didn't place the order. So be careful if they promise to bring something from their warehouse (you might end up getting nothing but wasting your time) Last year I bought a gold ring for my wife during our anniversary which lost it's color and shape within 5 months of purchase. Better find an authentic place if you are buying gold.

I returned an online purchase in-store only to be told I'd have to accept an Argos gift card because I'd paid via PayPal. I wasn't happy and said there was no warning about this when it came to paying online - if there had been I'd have paid by card. The customer service guy just shrugged and looked clueless. I later contacted Argos customer service online who confirmed that refunds should be made back to the same method of payment! I asked could I give her the gift card reference number so she could cancel it and do the repayment via PayPal ... no such luck ... seems you can BUY what you like online, but you have to get an incorrectly-funded return sorted out in person, in store, with the manager >:( This sort of inconvenience to customers does them no credit. Argos in general have got a well-deserved bad rep with customer service and this only goes to strengthen that.
