The Red Lion is the only surviving pub left in the beautiful Lancashire village of Newburgh. Newburgh sits on the Leeds and Liverpool canal just a short distance from Wigan. This traditional pub with its cosy corners and appetising food is a hit with both locals and visitors. The 13 high quality hotel rooms have been furnished to a high standard to give the perfect blend of old and new. Visitors on business may wish to take advantage of the function room offered by The Red Lion. The pub menu focuses on British classics using carefully selected local ingredients and for the more adventurous we offer daily specials from the blackboard. You can wash your meal down with a pint of quality real ale from a choice of brewers, or a glass of wine from our extensive cellar. Hotel accommodation rates include our fantastic free breakfast.

Weekly events and offers!

Monday to Friday we have our 2 for £12 menu available from 12-5pm,

Monday to Thursday our 'we love' wines all have 25% off the price when you buy the full bottle,

Tuesday night is Quiz Night, with our quiz starting around 9pm £1 to enter and all the money raised goes into our Play Your Cards right game which is played at the end of the quiz.

Wednesday night is Spice Night, where all of our Curries our £7.95 and include a free house drink,

Thursday night when you buy 2 8oz Rump Steaks you receive a free bottle of house wine,

Friday is Sizzler Night, buy any sizzler and get a free house drink,

And Sunday is Roast day, alongside the normal menu you can have one of our beautiful home-cooked roast dinners from £8.50, includes homemade Yorkshire pudding, fresh vegetables, home cooked roasties, and a choice of 4 different meats.
