Had a lovely night at the premier inn on our way to the lake district. Ate at the pub next door, where also breakfast is served too. The staff are all very friendly and the service is exceptional for a low cost hotel. Highly recommended.

This is an older premier inn, with disadvantages and advantages. Rooms are warm, when one arrives, but there are only three plugs. Whilst the bathrooms are not modern as some, there is a bath which is appreciated. If there were any major issues though, I feel confident that PI would sort them. The mattresses are soft, and depending on what you prefer, that is good or bad. There is an actual key required instead of a key card. Everything is comfortable, clean and lovely as ever though. The breakfast however was in the 'Hungry Horse' restaurant next door and I felt slightly disappointed. There was no Costa coffee machine, and the coffee provided in my opinion tastes worse than the sachets provided within the rooms. There is no smoothie and the pastry selection is much more limited. There is only semi milk, compared to the selection one usually gets in a PI. The cooked breakfast was waitress ordered, not buffet style which may matter for some. The hotel staff were all very friendly and northern which was lovely and made my day. For budget hotel standard, this hotel is great, however compared to the usual PI standard it is not the same. I would recommend staying in a newer inn nearby if convenient and a good price. Enjoy!

Greeted with a lovely, warm welcome after a long drive home. Room was very nice, warm and clean. Very good value for money.

Lovely place with lovely, friendly and very helpful staff. Was a Wheelchair User staying in Accessible Room, and these come with low bath tubs to be able to transfer in and out of. Bathroom easily accessible and usable​. Beds comfortable and at easy transfer level, and room has just enough space to manoeuvre chair. Not as modern as other Premier Inns, but has a TV with Freeview and a hairdryer, with kettle and tea/coffee packets. What's nice is Premier inn allows you to have as many of these as you request too. It's slightly awkward to get in the nice pub next door with a chair, but once you're in, it's easy to get around and the staff as so helpful and nice. I was comfortable here for several days and would gladly return.

Location is good as it's just off of the motorway. It's built next to a restaurant called The Charnley Arms which is pretty good. Rooms are pretty standard but there's plenty of room. The staff are friendly and will help you and assist you as much as they can. There's no lift so if you have young children or you use a wheelchair or have a different accessibility issue make sure you ask for a ground floor room. Overall, it's a good place to stay and if you book in advance the prices are very good as well. I just wish they'd modernise it a bit by using key cards instead of physical keys!
