We recently enjoyed a fantastic two night stay while in town to watch the cricket at Headingley, the facilities and staff in general were amazing. However must make special mention of Meghan who greeted us for breakfast each morning. Her welcoming smile and conversation has left us with such a positive memory of our visit to Leeds. Please ensure Meghan receives recognition of this feedback.
Staying at Raddison Blu at present supposed to be a junior suite certainly not as advertised only one chair no table no biscuits on tea tray no coffee on tea tray very disappointing as booked this as a birthday weekend treat. Complained at reception got 30000 points but after this disappointment at a Raddison hotel I don’t know if I will book again certainly not a cheap stay, no restaurant for a meal after a long day. The only positive the staff try their best and are pleasant and friendly and the room is clean but certainly not a junior suite not even a superior room if you must stay here do yourself a favour and just book a standard room the others are not worth the money Rooms: Poor Nearby activities: Good for the light and city centre Safety: Felt safe Walkability: Close to everything Food & drinks: Poor Noteworthy details: Staff
The staff that work at this place deserve an award for their customer service! Me and my partner came here for a weekend away and the hotel staff did exactly what I asked for and much much more. I cannot express in words how much it meant to myself and her, you are all an absolute credit to the company. I hope someone in your management sees this review and you all get the praise you deserve. We highly recommend this hotel for its location, cleanliness, customer service, room size and much more. We will definitely be coming back here for many years to come. Thank you once again! Rooms: Very spacious, clean and presentable. Bed is extremely cosy and it's so quiet. Faultless! Nearby activities: Plenty of stuff to do. Safety: Have to scan your room key for the lift to go up. Security on the hotel entrance. Walkability: Moments walk to the centre. Food & drinks: The drinks are lovely and not over priced. Noteworthy details: The staff are unbelievable and go above and beyond!
The hotel is in a great location in city centre and the Light has all you could need, the staff were friendly. Breakfast was okay if you arrived early as it dried out to a crips on the warmers later, utensils were missing. Unfortunately, there is very limited natural light in the room. The room was dirty on arrival and in disrepair. Missing bathroom tiles, damaged fixtures, worn through carpet that had clearly not been hoovered. The housekeeping was not good. Used towels were taken and not replaced. This was brought to the attention of reception staff who assured replacement would be brought promptly, 12hrs later still no fresh towels to have a shower. I would not recommend this hotel, expensive for what it was.
Firstly, the couple pros: The reception staff were kind and helpful. The location was fantastic, The Light is a beautiful complex with plenty of food and shopping. It’s about a 20 minute walk to the University of Leeds, about 10 minutes from the city center, but off the most trafficked path. Now for the cons: The offered services are often misleading. For example, the handout they give you when you check in says access to the gym in The Light is complimentary for guests, but it is actually 8£ for a one day pass. Laundry services are offered, but I don’t know what they can actually provide as pressing was on the list but when I asked about it, they don’t do that. The restaurant was operating on an extremely limited menu, just pizzas. The reception staff were doing their best but it seemed like their hands were tied. The hotel was also in disrepair, buttons were missing on the elevator, a lot of the furniture and door frames had varnish damage or some splintering, and the drains were barely functional. Water pooled up in the shower and sink until it reached the backup drain. The plate on the steam iron in the room has significant corrosion on it. The rods for pulling the curtains open and closed had broken free of the curtains. One of the metal shades on a bedside lamp was falling off. Something was seriously wrong here on either management or corporate’s end, as the state of the hotel did not reflect the price or reputation of Radisson Blu.
I recently stayed at your hotel, the Radisson Blu Leeds City Centre, and was disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. The shower drain was completely blocked, causing water to overflow and pool on the floor. The shower was also filthy, with thick mold growing around the rim of the drain. This is unacceptable for a hotel of your caliber. In addition, the room temperature was consistently set at 21 degrees Celsius, causing discomfort due to a malfunctioning air conditioning unit. Furthermore, the toilet seat was damaged, resulting in a safety hazard during use. There was visible mold and dampness around the bathroom entrance. The bedroom light was not functioning, and the showerhead required thorough cleaning. I am deeply dissatisfied with the subpar quality of my recent hotel stay, which ranks as the most unpleasant lodging experience I have ever had. It was utterly appalling.
I must say! - Blessing your new team member provided a wonderful service serving my team of nine for late evening drinks with a warm smile and excellent conversation. She’s a well seasoned traveller and has excellent stories of her experiences! - she’s should be on your day shift! - great host! Rooms: I had an accessible room - very adequate.
This hotel impressed me with its clean and tidy interior. It's conveniently located inside a mall, right in the city center with a beautiful view of the library and museum. The staff were friendly and helpful, although the reception desk wasn't always staffed. I loved the easy access to shopping and dining within the mall. Unfortunately, the heating system wasn't functioning during my stay, making it uncomfortable in the cold weather. The AC only provided fan circulation and couldn't be set below 25 degrees Celsius, offering limited relief. Overall, while the location and amenities were great, the lack of working heating would make me reconsider staying here again, especially during colder months. Rooms: Clean, tidy. Nearby activities: Inside the city centre much activities.
Spacious rooms, but my room still had white hair on the carpets and sofa. Bed was medium, firm, and cozy. Selection of biscuits on the tea tray really made the difference for me. Staff were diverse and friendly. I will definitely go back there again. The meeting rooms were nice and cool. Loved the staff refreshments area, which had two fridges full to the brim with drinks, which included Pepsi, lemonade, rasberry, and other drinks. Unfortunately, there were two coffee machines that kept alternating in breaking down.
Room too hot. Air conditioning just blows hot air. 1 tea bag, 2 milks, half a toilet roll. Bar not open to residents at 12 midnight on a bank holiday weekend Saturday night. Just a bit rubbish really. Could be so much better very easily. Disappointed, will stay elsewhere next time. Rooms: Nice but too hot Walkability: Very convenient
