Story

1847 - Birmingham is part of the national 1847 group that aims is to raise the standard of vegetarian food and drink in stylish, relaxed surroundings. We're located in the heart of the city centre within the Great Western Arcade on Colmore Row.

Our Chefs have created a menu full of British styled dishes, using where possible, ingredients sourced locally.

Open Monday to Sunday

On offer is a full list of cocktails plus an extensive wine, spirit and beer list.

After consuming the first of three vegan courses I sat back with a smile. When the serving staff approached I broached the question “I know I’ve ordered 3 courses, but given how delicate, picturesque and delicious this first course has been it would be great to order more.” “Well we do have a five course option too, which we offer on Saturday evenings. We can offer it to you this evening Friday if you would like.” My thoughts and response was immediate “YES”. I am not restrictive in my food choices, given the variety of the vegan dishes on offer at 1847 I would happily convert if I had this choice in every restaurant. Service was superb, each dish was presented and described before I devoured. The venue was quaint in size when looking in from the arcade alley. It has a large eating space upstairs. It does have that European bistro feel with a modern twist of black on white sharp lines. The seating area was comfortable, given Its quaint size, personal. Every dish surprised and delighted. An experience for the senses. Beautiful, delicate and vegan.
Everyone was talking about, so we checked it out... very classy restaurant, food was lovely. Flavours were interesting, so if you like to experiment then the set menu here will be up your street. Staff were super friendly, went the extra mile to make our visit that extra bit special. Would definitely come back again, with friends...
This restaurant is great. Nice and cosy little place located in Great Western Arcade. All vegetarian but don't let the scare you off carnivores! The food is absolutely top of the range. Fresh food with inventive dishes which are presented beautifully. The vibe is great with fantastic service and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend this place.
Good vegetarian option! I had a nice homemade focaccia with sun dried tomatoes and hummus for starter. The mushroom risotto for main was delicious! And the rice donuts with mango and coconut was a really surprise desert. The service is quite fast and attentive. The space is not to big but good to not stay too much crowded. I had a table reserved but seems OK to walk ins.
Really lovely décor on arrival. There's a really nice feel about the place. I had the battered hallumi and chips and it was delicious! Would highly recommend and will go back very soon.
This place is wonderful. Best vegetarian and vegan restaurants I have ever experienced. The food is excellent, beautiful crafted and the portions are just right. Three course menu is was the perfect amount of food. The service was accommodating and friendly. We will definitely be returning to Restaurant 1847.
Been here twice for a family meal with my dad and sister. I cannot fault the food! especially the halloumi dish. I'm not even vegetarian. It is amazing! The staff are great, attentive and knowledgeable. Put 4* as it feels a little cramped in the downstairs seating area and could do with a bit more personality in the decorations. It says welcome to nature on the door but all the walls inside are white and seems a little clinical
Excellent, fine vegetarian cuisine. A great experience all round. Excellent service, fantastic flavours and vistas.
Delicious vegetarian fare, freshly made cocktails and wonderfully friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend to anyone! Amazing!
Amazing veggie food! Best thing was the tofu scallops. Will be back next time we’re in Birmingham.
