Story

We have an open list and welcome requests for registration from patients living in or moving to the practice area. You can register by bringing along your NHS medical card or completing a form available from reception. We will make a note on your records if you prefer to see a particular doctor or nurse.

The practice catchment areas covers the following areas:

Bushbury, Coven, Fordhouses, Oxley, Pendeford, and Whitmore Reans

APPOINTMENTS

We run all our surgeries by an appointment only system. Theses can be made for those patients requesting to be seen that day for urgent problems whilst appointments for non-urgent problems can usually be provided within one week.

ONLINE APPOINTMENTS

It is now possible for patients to book their GP appointment online. If you are interested in online booking for your GP appointments, please contact our Reception staff who will tell you how to apply for registration for this service.

PRESCRIPTIONS

Please leave your request for a repeat prescription at reception or post it to the surgery. Tick the items you need on the right-hand section of your previous prescription form. Your prescription will be ready for collection 48 hours later. If you prefer, we can post it back to you (you will need to provide a stamped, addressed envelope).

We only take telephone requests for repeat prescriptions from those patients who are truly housebound.

We also provide an email prescription request service. All you need to do is email the surgery with your prescription request including your full name and date of birth to [email protected]. Once we have received your email we will send confirmation of your request and let you know when you can expect to collect the prescription or whether or not you need a medication review.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service received from this GP. He doesn't listen. He talks very fast and doesn't allow you to explain your symptoms in full. I felt fobbed off by him. I understand the pressures the NHS are under but this is unacceptable. Not Listening can be dangerous as things can be easily missed. Imagine I only recently registered with them and left the surgery 2 weeks later. Absolutely awful experience. I want a GP who listens to how I'm feeling and one who cares. I didn't get this impression here. The only nice thing about the surgery was Angie the lovely receptionist. She was very kind, friendly and appeared more caring than the GP. Thanks Angie and keep up the good work.
I have given three stars for a few reasons, one i call at open time and always get Same day appointments, two doctor Mittal is a great doctor. Three some off the staff are very impolite and rude. The surgery in my opinion needs to replace a couple of staff and also needs a make over. Not knowing the lady's name the works on reception but she wears glasses and is about 50 years old, this is the one thats comes across rude mainly and needs a course in customer service. Also the nurse that works at probert Road surgery Sr. Raynor Nutting – Qualifications: RGN, BSc Specialist Practitioner, Nurse Prescriber, Midwife is very nice and listens very closely. I've never waited more than 20 seconds for someone to answer the phone. Thank you
I joined the practice nearly 2 years ago which was in the middle of the pandemic. I have been fortunate enough to have received really good and supportive care particularly when I was very poorly with covid and being admitted to hospital as a result. Since then I have had to have ongoing care because of long covid and I have found them to be very responsive to my health care needs
I gave 5* because I can always get an appointment the same day doctor Mittel He’s kind and listens to you he always rings you back usually within minutes if you need to talk to him the nurses are amazing and I must disagree with the person who said reception are not polite I find them very polite and friendly you can’t please everyone be grateful that you have a doctors surgery that actually answers the phone and you can get an appointment
My daughter has had several abnormal smears and on one occasion needed treatment which was carried out at the hospital.A few months later she began to bleed heavily between her periods,as you can imagine this concerned her and us as parents greatly.She went to see the nurse who did a swab test and told her to call the surgery the following Monday.My daughter didn't want to wait until the Monday and called on the Friday instead,to be told by the receptionist that the results had come back and they definitely were not normal. She was told that the doctor would call her back by 18.30 which was when the surgery closed.My daughter called at 18.10 to be told that DR Mittel was busy with patients but would call her back as a note had been put on the computer.My wife then called at 18.25 to be told the same thing.Shortly after 18.30 my daughter called the surgery again ,to be told by the answering machine that the surgery was now closed.At 18.40 my wife and i drove to the surgery and it was obviously closed ,at this point DR. Mittel came out of the surgery and was in the process of locking up the premises.My wife approached and asked him why he hadn't called our daughter,he proclaimed to have no knowledge of what i was talking about !!! The situation was explained and he was asked to go back into the surgery and call our daughter as we were very concerned and didn't want to be left in limbo over the weekend.Guess what DR.Mittels reaction was ????? he puffed and blowed ,pulled his face and said "do i really have to " .Now we have been patients of DR.Mittel for lots of years ,but that response still shocked us. My wife had to ask him three times to return to the surgery to call her,which with great reluctance he eventually did. We have had several issues with him over the years in regards to my in-laws which we wish we had taken further but this is the last experience with him and we will be leaving the surgery after 30 years. Such a pity as i have no complaints about previous doctors who worked there. I did not want to give 1 star but no option for zero stars . Just a note that the nurses who work there are professional and considerate
Rude staff and apparently they don't get paid enough to answer a simple question. Wait times of over 30 minutes ever time.

Absolutely awful surgery.
I have never had any problems at this surgery. Always get an appointment within a day when I need it. Always have a call with Dr Mittal before an appointment is booked to assess who it is best for me to see. Dr Mittal is a little eccentric but that does not take away from the fact that he is a good doctor who has served our family well. Receptionists are fine too, I may have had one instance where a particular one came across as rude but it is not a personality contest I just want to know that my family and I are receiving good care and we always have.
