Brilliant place for the whole family with lots of things for kids to do, they'll love the train ride and play area plus lots of colouring to be done in the cafe
Great place to visit.. staff are friendly and knowledgeable.. the tea is very good. Great areas for kids to play and learn. Viewing gallery is a good way to see what is going on in the workshop. Unknown warrior was in bit on our visit.
A lovely place to take the family or your grandad. I really enjoyed the train ride and seeing the inside of the royal carage
Had a great day at midland railway butterly. Great to see princess Royal looking beautiful
Just one part of the large main area on the railway. Steam trust which looks after preserved engines and a coach used in royal train. Volunteers very helpful, one gave us a private guided tour of the Royal coach. Small museum and light refreshments available, well worth the visit to support all involved in preserving our heritage.
Very good, lovely little tea room with stuff to keep kids occupied. Was quite busy. Had a chat with couple of the guys about the different locos that they were working on. A few pallets with freshly machined components on ready for installation on the locos.
Lovely knowledgeable staff. Loads of information, some interactive bits for children to play on which is always a bonus. Really friendly staff in the library/tea room.
Lovely museum and friendly staff, which is unfortunately located within the midland railway, but isnt part of it. They have a royal coach which if you ask, you can go in. Theres also a cafe to get a cup of tea, and they are dog friendly. Two large Princess class locos are normally resident here, but they do occasionally get loaned out. Very nice exhibits, which is more than i can say about the Midland Railway......
Had a great time looking around the West Shed workshop. Learning about the history of the exhibits and people who were employed by the L M S. Also had a nice cup of tea and a biscuit. Staff helpful and friendly.
