Nice place for a couple of hours. Cafe serves good food and tasty strong coffee. Good selection of clothes and home wares etc from different outlets something for everyone. Good range of shoes although quite annoying woman in shoe dept we had to tell her to please stop asking if we "needed help" as we counted no less than 5 times we were asked!! Will visit museum next time as it's an interesting place to learn more about. Nice they kept it rustic.

A very interesting museum - especially as my grandfather worked in a textile mill in Huddersfield. There are working demonstrations, but we were too early. Looking at the rows & rows of machinery in different sheds; you get an idea of how noisy it would be. You can see the vast amount of textile dust which collected under the machines. No wonder chest problems were common! You follow the cotton from it's original state to woven cloth. If you have a smart phone, it's possible to scan codes at certain places to obtain more information. There is an outside picnic area by the weir on the River Derwent. Well worth a visit.

A unique kind of place! It's basically a department store, but with a particular charm. There's a nice soft play with ride ons and other toys that my 3 year old son loved - cost £1. Good cafe too. Ideal for spending a couple of hours on a rainy day.

Just a part of this huge mill building houses the working mill and museum but well worth a tour. Be sure to check for start time/s. The rest of the building is a shopping mall with rooftop carpark.

Very impressive antique machines were still working and kind staff guided quite informative. All the staffs I met there, at parking area, museum, shops, and cafe were very kind and lovely. Fairly satisfactory also with the price of ticket and parking and nice coffee.
