I was really impressed with the customer service that was provided. I live near the Fosse Park area so that Primark is usually my go-to. However, I was in this area so I decided to buy some clothes for my family. The young man that was helping me on the area near the men’s checkout was really helpful. He wore a radiant smile — a stark contrast to the staff in the Fosse Park branch. He even went as far as to offer me styling suggestions for the clothes I’d pick. If all the staff are like this, I might make this my new regular.
Store is really messy and untidy. You cannot find anything properly as its such a mess. Clothing thrown everywhere items on wrong size hangers and the queues for tills are awful. Its like someone has rampaged through the store and destroyed it most times. The last time I went in I had not been there for a few years as I had the same experience. This time was no different the contrast between here and ghe fosse park store is miles apart. Fosse park is tidy clean mostly well stocked this store is anything but.
Concerns Regarding Racial Disparity in Customer Service at PrimarknnI shop at Primark occasionally and am aware that the quality of some items can be inconsistent, particularly after washing. For this reason, I always try to keep my receipts.nnOn one occasion, I attempted to exchange an unworn item for a larger size. I had purchased the item only two days earlier but was unable to locate the receipt. I explained to the manager that I knew the exact amount paid and asked whether the receipt could be searched using my card details. I was told this was not possible and the exchange was refused.nnYesterday 18th December , during a very busy day in the store, I witnessed a WHITE customer attempting to return an item without a receipt. To my surprise, manager, Joe, willingly searched for her receipt using her card details and processed the return without hesitation. This directly contradicted what I had previously been told and raised serious concerns about inconsistent treatment and potential racial bias.nnMy own experience later that day further reinforced these concerns. I had purchased a Minecraft full zip-up coverall for my six-year-old son in size 7–8. Due to incorrect hangers, which is common in-store, I spent a considerable amount of time selecting the correct size. My son tried the item on before I removed the tags and washed it. After washing, the garment had clearly shrunk and no longer fit.nI returned to the store with the item, my receipt, and a new, unworn size 7–8 coverall to demonstrate the size difference. I also purchased a size 8–9 replacement to allow for potential shrinkage. At the till, the assistant identified a barcode discrepancy between the returned item and the receipt. As the item had been washed, the tags had been discarded.nnManager Joe was called over and stated that I was attempting to return the incorrect item, suggesting the barcode related to a larger size. I calmly explained the situation and the shrinkage issue. Despite this, he implied that I was being dishonest and stated that he would “allow” the exchange on this occasion, while warning that I would not be able to return the larger size later using the same receipt.nnThis interaction was deeply upsetting. The implication that I was attempting to commit fraud was unjustified and felt like profiling rather than a fair assessment of the situation. While I understand store policies, there was a clear lack of empathy and professionalism, especially when contrasted with the assistance offered to another WHITE customer without a receipt.nnI find this behaviour unacceptable and discriminatory. Should I ever misplace a receipt again, I will expect the same level of service and consideration that was extended to the other WHITE customer. Primark must address inconsistencies in customer service and ensure all customers are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity.nnDisgusting behaviour!
Primark in Leicester is a go-to destination for fashion and homeware at exceptionally low prices, making it ideal for anyone shopping on a budget. The store spans three floors and offers a wide selection of clothing for men, women, and children, as well as accessories and home goods. Primark’s business model focuses on cost leadership and an efficient supply chain, allowing it to consistently deliver the latest trends at prices that are hard to beat customers frequently mention picking up quality basics like sweatshirts for as little as £10 for two. While the store can get busy and sometimes messy, its unbeatable value and broad range ensure it remains popular with students, families, and bargain hunters alike
I live about five minutes away from this store, but honestly, I can’t justify going in anymore. Every single time I visit, it’s a complete mess. What’s confusing is there are always around 2–6 staff members on the shop floor, yet the store still looks like it’s been turned upside down.nnThen you get to the tills and it somehow gets worse. Only two people serving, while the queue stretches out to a 15–20 minute wait. It just doesn’t make sense. The staff allocation feels completely backwards — the more efficient, fast-moving staff seem to be kept on the shop floor, while the tills are left understaffed and running slowly. Meanwhile, some staff on the floor appear disengaged, standing around rather than actively tidying or organising the clothing.nnOn top of that, the clothing sections are chaotic. Sizes rarely match what’s on the hangers, so if you do find something you like, you have to dig through an entire rail just to locate the correct size. And even then, items are often dirty, marked with footprints, or have small holes in them. What’s worse is that staff refuse to offer any discount on damaged items.nnWhoever is responsible for managing this store seriously needs to step up. Staff deployment and hiring decisions don’t seem to be working, and it shows in how poorly the store is run day-to-day. It would make far more sense to prioritise hiring and assigning staff based on efficiency, attentiveness, and willingness to work, rather than the current approach, which clearly isn’t delivering a good customer experience.nnOverall, this is easily the most poorly run store of its kind I’ve experienced. It’s frustrating because it could be so much better with some basic organisation and management.
