After a very long journey we didn't want to go out again, but it was with some trepidation that we decided to eat here.nI'm glad we did.nThe calamari were some of the best I've ever eaten in Britain. All too often they resemble onion rings with masses of soggy batter. These were perfect in every way and could hold their own with any in Italy or Greece. The weekend prosecco offer added to the delight.nThe steak was good but not exceptional. The meat is of good quality.nAnd the service? Very prompt, very efficient, and very attentive.nSelect wisely and you'll have a good meal.
Pretty reasonable prices and choice. Parking good. The £5 meal menu each afternoon is exceptional value! Well worth a visit if just for that. Also enjoy the breakfast all you can eat deal.
Sadly this is the worst Brewers Fayre I've ever visited.nVery messy, food all over the floor even though it wasn't busy, counted 3 other tables with guests only .nMeat had run out turkey on carvery at 2.30pm.nToilets were worst I've been in.nSorry, absolutely awful.n plus point, staff were pleasant, if scarce .
The Drove in Newhaven is a friendly and relaxed pub that offers a comfortable setting for both locals and visitors. With its welcoming atmosphere and well-kept interior, it’s an easy place to settle in and enjoy a meal or a quiet drink. The pub strikes a good balance between traditional charm and modern comfort, making it suitable for casual lunches or evenings out.nThe food menu features familiar pub classics alongside daily specials, all served in generous portions and at reasonable prices. Meals are freshly prepared and consistently satisfying, with something to suit most tastes. The drinks selection is equally solid, with a choice of beers, ales, wines, and soft drinks.nStaff are approachable and attentive, creating a warm, community feel throughout the pub. Overall, The Drove is a dependable Newhaven favourite, ideal for relaxed dining and easygoing socialising.
Lovely place to take the children 2-6pm meals are £5 a head very good sized meals.
