Greeted at reception with a friendly welcome. Our room was on the first floor to the rear of the property. Everything was clean and comfortable to the usual Premier standard. Breakfast was excellent. Porridge fabulous!nDining area could perhaps do with a bit of refurbishment. Will definitely be back
Have just spent two nights here, Christmas eve and day. Staff were very helpful , especially Aiden, could not do enough to accommodate us. Rooms are very nice and clean and have everything you need. Bathroom could do with an update as it has a he shower curtain that is a little grubby and not really hygienic. Breakfast was lovely and had lots of choices. Definitely going to rebook when next visiting friend. Thank you.
This is a bit of an unfair rating for the Premier Inn itself as half the issue is with the restaurant attached. There were 4 in our party 2 adults and 2 children and when we got to our room we only had a double bed and a single, so had to change rooms. The staff were very good about it but it meant our room was not ready so they had to make it up while we were out. We were downstairs and there is no lift access, so it meant carrying all our bags down and then up 2 flights of stairs, whilst assisting our children on the stairs. It also meant that we couldn't bring our pushchair in. The room itself was standard PI but with 4 beds in it, it was a bit cramped, but fine for 2 nights. Breakfast at the restaurant next door was very slow, its buffet continental but unlimited order hot food. They dont take your hot food order quickly, it was at least 10 minutes after arrival both times and then another 10 minute wait for it to arrive. The food was nice, but the orange juice was not the nicest. A fairly good stay for a few nights but I wouldn't stay longer than that
The staff are the key to this hotel and pub combination, you know what to expect from a large chain hotel, but when the staff are good it's a much more pleasant stay.
Booking site does not mention that the shower is over the bath, which caused me some difficulty. There was no light where the hairdryer was, no armchair and no biscuits. I hadn't realised that the room is only cleaned if requested so towels were not replaced. My bath towel was so thin I wanted it replaced. I was able to get another from reception which was a better quality. I wouldn't stay here again. I have stayed in other Premier Inns and they have been much better than this.
