Lovely 2 night stay. We mentioned about it being our anniversary trip and the staff were lovely enough to upgrade our room. The room was brilliant. Massive size and comfortable bed, good selection of teas and coffee including coffee machine. We were shocked to find air conditioning in the room which we used full force and it made a complete difference. Bathroom was a good size. My partner said its the most powerful shower he has had in a while.nnDid not use the restaurant or have breakfast which was included but looking at the menu and what the restaurant looked like we agreed we will be back again.
A lovely hotel, right next to historic Highcliffe castle.nnThe rooms were lovely. Clean sheets, tidy room and a lovely sized bathroom that two people could get ready in together. Really quiet and peaceful environment too. No road noise or disruption from other guests.nnThe breakfast was really nice too, my partner and I both thoroughly enjoyed the eggs benedict, cooked to perfection. The restaurant was lovely with plenty of seating space and a nice menu on offer.nnStaff were helpful, friendly and unobtrusive, leaving us to get on with our stay with a minimum of fuss or bother, but were responsive to our requests, such as use of an iron, or replacement towels after ours had been used.
Went for lunch with friends to celebrate my birthday as a thank you for all their support after my cancer diagnosis. Because of my illness I have not been there for a few months. It was a disaster. What used to be a super restaurant is now less than average. The surroundings are the same very classic and comfortable. What has changed is the quality of the meals. Today every thing except the soup was either cold or reheated. The confit of duck was hard and a knife would not cut it. The veg was in two small dishes 3x4 for five and cold. Dishes and plates were hot food cold. What has gone wrong with this place. . The lamb overcooked. It used to be a first class restaurantnBecause I was hosting this I was aware of dampening the atmosphere but my friends were insistent that I should challenge the chef. He supplied a few petit fois but even these were not defrosted properly. What a shame we need restaurants to maintain standards Perhaps the owner or manager would comment
Booked the restaurant for 13 of us following a small family wedding. The food, service, ambience was excellent. I cannot praise this hotel highly enough. The staff were so accommodating- they really spoilt us and the food was absolutely beautiful- tasty high quality and delicious menu. We will be back! Thankyou to you all
My family and I came to stay at the Lord Bute around the 30th of June and I’ve got to say, I’m not sure it deserves five stars. It was a very plausible experience for what it was worth but, I think the food was very unpleasant. Other than that, the location was hard to find but we got our way there in time. Thank for our stay and I recommend you accommodate with the owners. They were the highlight of the stay
