"Cinema of the Year 2018. The Picture House Uckfield has been screening films since 1916. It has been run by the Markwick Family since 1962. It is a state of the art cinema with comfortable seating and the best sound and vision around. With 3 screens it shows all the latest film releases plus classic and world cinema as well as opera, ballet, theatre and art from around the world. In 2014 it acquired it opened it’s own restaurant. The Picture House Restaurant provides the perfect accompaniment to a night at the cinema. With seasonal menus, ingredients are locally sourced and food cooked fresh plus has live music and regular events. The Picture House Cinema and Restaurant has something for everyone."

Great little cinema, very comfy seating. Much better than the huge chain cinemas. Only down side was the wait to be served at the beginning as the Lounge guests were taking up most of the staff’s time making a very stressed working environment for staff. Could do with more toilets. Each screen has a small seating area meaning you are never that far away from the screen or that you feel you are lost in a huge crowd. Very good atmosphere.
This is a nice little restaurant with film posters on the wall. The food was good although my steak was a little chewy. The staff were efficient and polite. It is reasonably priced.
Went for a late lunch here today with a friend and had a really great time. We both had dishes that were cooked to perfection, followed by 2 gorgeous desserts. Our waitress was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. Very happy, will definitely be back
I took my daughter for an evening meal, before seeing Living in the cinema two Sundays past. We were both blown away by the quality of our meal. I have been very fortunate to have dined in the past 50 years at some of the best restaurants in Europe, thanks to my line of business, and for the reasonable cost involved this is a restaurant I will eagerly revisit. And there are several Michelin starred restaurants about which I cannot say the same Parking: Local very nearby car park very accessible, on street parking appalling
My family enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Picture House Restaurant last night to celebrate my Husband's 60th Birthday. The food and service was first rate. We moved to Uckfield earlier this year and feel very fortunate to have this gem nearby. Thank you to a great team!
Great local cinema just don't buy gift vouchers.. turns out despite saying cinema, food and drink on them you can't actually use them to buy food and drink at the cinema... Just the cinema tickets. Really annoying when you have a £25 voucher thinking it will pay for 2 kids tickets and popcorn. It was suggested my 13yo son and his friend could spend the left over money across the road at the restaurant as you can use them to buy food and drink there! Brilliantly unhelpful. Just seen the reply. Please can you tell your staff this so they give customers the correct info. Thanks
Excellent dinner. Food was lovely, great atmosphere. Staff were very kind and attentive. Can't wait to go back!

Great food, fantastic decor, ambience and atmosphere topped off with a wide choice of vegetarian dishes. Fantastic find.
Modest, unpretentious but welcoming. An extensive menu, variegated. Excellent value. I had the pork fillet which I thoroughly enjoyed. UPDATE. Christmas Eve, early dinner. Busy, jolly atmosphere. Food remains excellent at affordable prices. Attentive young staff, always smiling. Highly recommended.
