Wonderful venue, beautiful building and lovingly restored interior, and brilliantly staffed by the community of volunteers. Had a lovely chat with one volunteer before the film started. What a fabulous thing to have in your town. I live quite a distance from it but will be making return visits just because it's so unique.
I absolutely love this cinema, the staff all volunteers, I think ? as it's a charity. They are all lovely, friendly and we had a good laugh with them. Especially over me being entitled to a concession, now I am of that age.. I use the term N.. A. G. New Age Goddesses . Don't 'steal' it though, it's my saying .nnWe were a group of four and went to see Penguin Lessons starring Steve Coogan, brilliant film, funny, entertaining and a little emotional at the end.nnThis cinema is so welcoming, you can buy hot drinks, ice cream lollies, chocolate and other things at the kiosk, at reasonable prices. The tickets are very reasonable too.. even more so with a concession .nnIf you haven't been, I'd highly recommend you go. You won't regret it.
A proper cinema staffed by volunteers where you can buy a soft drink or tea but not have to pay the earth.
Absolutely superb cinema - lovingly restored and great staff / volunteers who help run it. It's a pleasure to see a film here and a world away from the run of the mill multiplex cinemas. Long may it continue to be a success.nnAlso has a very well put together screening schedule and mix of films along with special events / archive stuff etc. If you live locally or further away this cinema is well worth going out of your way to visit.
Beautiful theatre come cinema. Full of nostalgia a real step back in time to see the latest blockbuster film no less. And very good prices as well
