Kino
"Located in the heart of the medieval citadel of Rye, at the top of Lion Street, opposite the Town Hall. The venue occupies a former Victorian library and won a RIBA Award for its design and renovation. There are two stylish cinemas showing the latest films and special events, a private function space that is also used as a third screen, a large café-bar with a mezzanine lounge and a delightful sunny terrace.Open daily from 10.30am for breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea and evening drinks. Kino is renowned for serving the best coffee around and for its varied and interesting menu served all day and sourced locally. Its well-stocked bar serves wines, beers, spirits and cocktails, as well as non-alcoholic and soft drinks."

An old church turned into a cafe and cinema. Works well. The cake and food was really nice. Has 2 screens. The red room was much bigger than I thought. Cinema is London prices. About 11 quid a ticket. Nice staff.
Great cinema, lovely large area to sit outside and have coffee and snacks, seating area inside is quite large and has a bar and seating upstairs. I had a cappuccino and you get a little chocolate with it, really tasty and very reasonably priced. It has two cinema screens and you can hire one out for private parties. It shows latest blockbuster films and also National Theatre live events and other unusual films like David Bowie Moonage Daydream. Brilliantly situated, in Rye up on the hill near the church.
1st time at the Kino Rye, always wanted to go to a kino! Establishment was well layed out, clean and tidy. Good choice of drinks and food. It was good that there were very few seats in the cinema but!! I was expecting the sound to be much better and the screen to be a bit bigger. Would be better if the walls were painted a dark colour rather than white as the room is quite light which sometimes draws your eyes away from the screen. If I'm totally honest- we probably wouldn't go again at £35 for 2 tickets.
Old fashioned but in a good way, a very good way. The staff are friendly it's clean with nice nibbles. What more could you want.
Lovely independent cinema set in an historic school building nice interior cafe and lovely courtyard seating area .Serving food beverages and alcohol . Nice relaxed place to watch a film .
Always enjoy a visit to The Kino in Rye! Lovely atmosphere, good range of refreshments available, friendly helpful staff and two wonderful spaces in which to enjoy film showings. What's not to love?
Love this cute, unique, independent venue! Such a nice change to standard cinemas. Great selection of food and beverages! Friendly staff and ample seating.
A great local cinema. We were not aware of the two for one Tuesday deal, a nice surprise. The ticket prices need to be a bit cheaper and I think thus would encourage more to visit
First visit to this place but very impressed. Good size screen, comfortable seats and loads of leg room. Sound could have been a little louder.
Lovely, clean fresh environment, good food although limited serving times . Cinema experience how it should be ! The screening rooms are about 60 seater so non of the noise or chaos of the larger venues . It's a joy to watch the movie in comfortable chairs with plenty of space and with a glass of wine in your hand . A real joy
