Stopped at the Peldon Plough for a drink to wait for the strood causeway to Mersea to be uncovered, and what a little gem it is. Lovely old Essex pub with great local beers and friendly staff and locals alike. Dog friendly inside which is great. We didn’t eat this time but saw lots of food coming out which looked and smelt amazing. Menu was a good mix of pub classics and some finer bits too. Can’t wait to go back. Highly recommend.
This is the second time we've been here and it doesn't disappoint at all, the service is wonderful, great staff. The food is amazing, a great choice and so much of it, you certainly don't leave unfulfilled that's for sure. Will be back again. Thank you
Had 2 separate meals here while staying at Lodge cottage camping and glamping, Both meals were amazing and staff were very helpful and friendly, great atmosphere and pub is so sweet
I held my 50th birthday party at The Plough in Peldon. Thanks so much to Jack, Jade and all the team in making my evening extra special and giving me memories to treasure. All my friends and family that joined us commented on the amazing service and fantastic buffet food. The disco was rocking and we didn’t want the evening to end! Parking is easy and a couple of older guests found it very comfortable to get around especially the easy access to the toilets. A brilliant pub! I highly recommend The Plough for a drink, fabulous food and to celebrate any occasion!
What a great find! We weren’t sure what the menu would offer as we couldn’t find one online, but on arrival it was exactly what we were looking for - and all sounded delicious. One of the best caeser salads I’ve ever had! Great portion sizes and delicious, home cooked food. Friendly staff and a roaring fire too. Highly recommend!
Went for my dads birthday and it was wonderful.. the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. A super cosy, family pub run by an amazing bar/restaurant manager Jade, who will go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. Will most definitely be returning and will recommend to everyone x
A bit disappointed really loved the food they had previously . We been there a year ago and it was lovely but they have changed the menu now and the fish and chips or something else we had disturbed our stomachs quite a lot. Still a great place to go for a drink.
Family and friends came together at The Plough Peldon to share memories of my mother after her sudden passing. The buffet selection was ideal and the service provided was outstanding from the initial enquiry through to the actual event. Would highly recommend.
Friendly pub .. good carpark .. Log burner .. and a couple of fresh cask beers.. Thank you really nice to meet you and the locals Nick in the van.
Thank you to all at the Plough at Peldon for hosting my mum's wake. The food was great, good quality with a nice variety and plenty of it. It was the ideal venue.
