If I had to think of the company I would be least likely to recommend for anything, out of all of the poor quality services I've received in my life, Pattinsons would take the honour every. single. time. Between absolutely horrendous, hostile and evasive communication and the classic deposit scam that left me with £9 from my £850 deposit, I can certainly say I would advise anyone considering renting a property managed by Pattinsons to strongly re-consider their options. After moving out of a property early last year, they got in touch to discuss the 'state' of the property. I wasn't able to take the call at the time, so we rearranged to discuss. I attempted to reach the member of staff at Pattinsons on several occasions, at which time he informed me that were damages that had to be paid for, but he couldn't give me a total at this point. I tried to contact him several times to get the requested information, he ignored all of my calls. It wasn't until I ran his superior at the offices that he finally got in touch, promising the information soon. I did receive the information, a convenient three months later. This left me in a position where I could not dispute the deposit in the deposit protection scheme. I was informed that they needed new blinds, carpets and cooker cleaned, as well as a series of other small expenditures. Most of which, especially the three aforementioned, were not required and certainly shouldn't have been chargeable. Little that was charged for was more than expected wear and tear (and I used that phrase lightly, since they paid for things cleaned that were spotless, in some cases). Paddy, the gentlemen I was dealing with, could not have been ruder. From the moment we moved out, he talked to me like there was a problem, like he was defending his every decision, his every word. It was never a pleasant exchange. His manager was more polite, but considering the circumstances, that counts for very little. Either way, I'm not out of pocket £841 for a 7 month tenancy, I had to deal with months of hostile attitudes and false promises. So, I must reiterate, if it has a Pattinsons sign outside, please reconsider your options.
