About

Paignton Zoo is located in Paignton, Torbay, South Devon. We have over 2,000 animals, and lot of plants too, spread out over an 80 acre site. We are a registered charity and are members of the British Zoo Association.

Story

See them all - giraffes, lions, gorillas, cheetahs and thrilling crocodiles, plus our cheeky meerkats, colourful snakes and amazing monkeys. There are also indoor play areas, the Jungle Express train and uniquely six different habitats that mimic the animals' natural environment. Come in and get close to over two thousand creatures. But better leave a whole day - you'll need it!

Fantastic day out for the family. Not too badly priced and plenty to see and do. My boys loved the train ride, despite only bring a few minutes long and all the animals. With a soft play area as well there's plenty to see and do.

We love this zoo. We visit every time we are in the area. Such a lovely lay out and a wonderful array of different animals. Nice and big areas for the animals to explore. Definitely rate this zoo

Has a variety of animals from all different countries. Large size for a zoo and it’s restaurant is excellent. Overall, great day out. If you live nearby then I recommend you purchase membership as it will save you a lot of money in the future.

Fabulous zoo! Very friendly staff and obviously looked after animals. I appreciate the conservation work that goes on here. Good for children, but equally as good to visit as an adult without children.

Best zoo I've been to! Lots of different species, well kept and cared for and with lots of interesting information about them! I'd definitely recommend coming here with young children, I know I'd have loved this place as a youngster, and maybe fallen in love with some unusual creatures too! I come here at least once a year on holidays and it never disappoints, the ice cream is lush too!
