One of London’s most charming and efficient transport hubs! The station is clean, well-organized, and clearly signposted, making it easy to navigate even during busy hours. Connections to the Heathrow Express and multiple Underground lines make it a highly convenient gateway to the rest of the city. One little fun fact: Paddington Station is the birthplace of the world’s first ever commercial night-time long-distance train service. In 1877, the Midnight Mail departed from Paddington, carrying passengers and mail through the night to Penzance. As an American, It was amazing getting to step foot in the station for the first time.
Spacious, historic, contemporary, modern.nnA very interesting station!nnIt can take 20 minutes to get between platform, it is so large.
Had a wonderful time at this station. The Heathrow Express was very easily accessible and all the employees were incredibly helpful during my adventures into London.
Worst experience ever. Hopped off the Elizabeth Line to catch my next train which was stopping at Cardiff Central. My train was the 12:46 to Carmarthen, which apparently got cancelled. The next train stopping at Cardiff Central was the 13:46 to Swansea. It then got delayed to to 14:20-14:30. As soon as it got assigned a platform, the platform was overcrowded with people. The train started moving when there was less people on the platform. Do not change at Paddington if you are coming from West London to Cardiff. Change at Reading instead.nnEdit: Also, it stopped at Reading, even though on the announcement board, it said it was shopping at Swindon first.
Only used it a few times but love the Heathrow Express link for airport runs, saves so much time for early meetings. Spacious platforms and easy access to the West End. Renovations have improved accessibility; wish there were more seating areas. 5 stars easy. I love the architecture.
