A nice underground station that is served by the bakerloo line there is stairs and escalators to the platforms no lifts at this station. The station building outside is very pretty inside the old ticket offices are now know as tiny parks which has plants inside of them. The ticket hall area is a average size the station was clean and not to busy.
I use this station quite often. I love its appearance and it has great bus connections to Shepherds Bush, Kensington etc. But it seems only at this station does touching the escalator handrail leave a solid black residue on your hands!! I don't know if it's graphite or the rubber itself, but I always have to wash them afterwards if i don't want to risk falling :
Your staff member currently on duty at the station was extremely rude and unprofessional. When my paper ticket didn’t work at the barrier, he refused to assist me and completely ignored me. I had to travel to Queen’s Park, where the staff were much more helpful and allowed me to exit without issue.nnIt was clear he wasn’t in a working mindset, he was in uniform but wearing an earbud, showing no willingness to support passengers. It’s concerning that staff are allowed to behave this way while representing your service.
Completed during WW, Grade II Listed and still retaining much original fabric including a domed glass roof and distinctive ‘ox-blood’ glazed facade.nOriginal ticket windows converted into attractive plant displays.nAdmirable but could do with a lick of paint to bring it up to scratch.
Regretfully I have to say that this station is a complete embarrassment to tfl.nnI don't believe the handrails on the escalator have been cleaned for 15 years, if you touch them you get black soot on your hands, absolutely filthy.nnThis does not happen on any other escalator in London or any other country I've been in. In Japan I would see an employee cleaning these rails every few days, unfortunately this is a reflection of austerity.nnIt's so bad I'm almost tempted to clean it myself.nnThis is also a H&S hazard if you consider it from that perspective.
