Excellent Steak and Kidney pudding! This place is a little gem, I really enjoyed my time here and I have visited many times in the past. The food is really tasty pub grub, wonderfully cooked and very filling. I had the Steak and Kidney pudding and it was chock-full of steak and kidney. The chips were nice too, chippy style and the veg on the side were nice also. My brother had Cheese and Onion Pie which he really enjoyed, but he said he could have done with some gravy as he forgot to order it it's on the sides menu. There was plenty of staff and they were all really nice and friendly. Our food came quickly and it was nice and hot. The decor inside is really cool and I really like all the old signage. Will be back soon.
One of the most welcoming places ever. The atmosphere and decor are just so warm. The cheese and onion pie is honestly the best pie I have ever had. A great place to watch the day go by sat next to the canal. A must visit if your in the area
The hotel and pub were lovely and all of the staff were friendly and helpful. We had to wait 45 for the table we had booked, but the food was good.
Excellent meal here at lunch time. Home made steak and kidney pudding and a ploughman's lunch. Plenty of food as you can see in the picture, recommended.
Great Food and its Hot, Fresh veg, home made chips. Relaxed atmospher by side of canal. Old fashioned type shops to wonder around.
A good old faithful restaurant. On our last visit, 3 of us ordered steak & kidney Pudding. Couldn't fault the food except 2 of us had no kidney at all. Yes, I did mention it to the waiting staff who were very attentive but after looking and waiting until we had eaten all the Pudding it was lacking kidney, shame really. Otherwise it was excellent
Not been here for food in years. Came today and it was 10/10. Would definitely recommend.
First time we had visited. What a labyrinth? Really quirky place with lots of seating areas both inside and out A good selection of beers and food, from sandwiches, pizzas, burgers to mains and specials. Friendly and efficient staff and the meal we ordered was well cooked and nicely presented. Will certainly go again when next on the area.
I really wanted to love this place, but I couldn't shake off the sense I was in a college dining room. You order at the bar, pay before you eat never a good sign, juggle your own hot drinks on a tray through a crowded dining room with dogs, tables, and various hazards en route. Despite this, I was hopeful the food would be alright. After all, it was really busy. But it wasn't. The food was dreadful. Weird textured and tasting cheese and onion pie, tasteless oven chips, and the most horribly cooked green beans, carrots, and peas I've had since school days. We all left lots of food, despite being ravenous. The place was a grave disappointment, thank goodness the company was excellent. Ive only given two stars because the staff were pleasant.
Something different. Unashamedly a tourist destination with reasonable food both quality and price. Some of the outlying buildings housing shops etc were undergoing refurbishment when we visited but I've been here in summer and it's a pleasant family afternoon out. Reasonably priced accommodation available too.
