Super impressed with the food we ate at The Eagle. We both opened for the steak sandwich with upgraded chips/fries. I absolutely loved the thick cut truffle chips and could have eaten loads more. I was stuffed after the meal though and sadly couldn't fit in a dessert..I did see some on the next table to us though and they looked incredible so we will definitely have to eat again. Staff and ambience were superb too.
The food and service were both good at our recent lunch visit. The steak sandwich was really filling, served on a lovely ciabatta bun. Only criticism was that at a relatively quiet weekday lunchtime all customers were seated in one area with half the pub appearing empty. I understand this is likely easier for service, but unfortunately this meant it felt very noisy and crowded at what we hoped was going to be a nice quiet, relaxed lunch.
Superb family usual pre Christmas meal out at the Eagle. Wonderful atmosphere and excellent food. Lynn the lady who served us deserves a gold star hope i spelt your name correct Lynn. More than worth a visit or even a re-visit. Sorry about the photos folks it was hard to get them when everyones scoffing and they dont do the food justice.
Came for a meal with the family, service was great, and the server was attentive even though it was relatively busy... ordered starters they were delicious, no problems there. Ordered mains they were quick to come out looked amazing! The fish was superb and described accurately. The steak, was the same, no problems there. 4 of us ordered the Beef Wellington with accompanying vegetables, no further description on the menu so would expect what was printed. Order came and it looked perfect... vegetables were excellent. The beef Wellington on the other hand was not what I expected, it was slow cooked beef brisket rolled into a ball seared with shortcrust pastry wrapped around? It tasted nothing like BW, it had a mushy texture, dry inside and bland... non of us could finish it. Was majorly disappointed. This i think should be described better on the menu! Especially when its almost £20 for the main course! I would have had something else! Desserts were tasty and drinks were on the expensive side for the location.
Have eaten here several times since it was refurbished. Foods lovely and well presented. Well staffed and they're very attentive. Not the cheapest, but that's to be expected for the food, fit and finish. Will be returning.
Lovely rural pub, with charming atmosphere, beer garden, friendly attentive service, good selection of beers and amazing food!
First time here and will return! Met with friends for a late dinner and it was very good. Quite busy for a Friday evening which is always a good sign. We tried a range of meat and vegetarian items and all were very nice.
Lovely food, beautiful location, great service
Our ‘go to’ place to eat. Consistently excellent, atmosphere always welcoming, food amazing, service faultless. Plus they do the best buddha bowl Parking: So much parking.
What a beautiful place. We all loved it. The food was divine and the service was great.
