It is a beautiful walk,I enjoy it everytime I go with the dog. You can amble along the river front for hours taking in the scenery across the water on to the Wirral side. You can gaze across to Birkenhead and Runcorn. Ships also use the waterway at high tides and it's nice to stand and watch them go by. It is a great area to de-stress and wind down. If it's a hot day don't forget your sun screen as the glare off the water can be intense. But overall once you get past the parking issues it's a lovely place to walk. Playground: There is the Otters play centre and across the road from it a children's swing and play area. Beware this does get busy on weekends. Restrooms: Facilities are not so great, toilets are in the pub at the millers end,but you have to be a patron. There are toilets at the Otters play centre but I also think the same applies there. There isn't a lot of rubbish receptacles on the walk so please be aware of that. The council encourages you to take your rubbish home with you. Dog-friendliness: Good place to walk your dog,but beware as there are bicycles and joggers using the promenade. They are cautious, but if your dog is off the lead you may have an accident. Families use the prom to have a lovely stroll along the River Mersey,to be honest it is lovely on a sunny day walking with the dog. Picnic area: Plenty of green areas to have a picnic or sit down and just browse the day away. There are benches along the way to sit down as well as some concrete loungers in some areas. There is the Millers pub at one end of the prom and Otters cafe and play area in the middle. If you plan a day there, I suggest you get there early on weekends and bank holidays as parking can be a big issue. Especially by the Otters play area and cafe as people tend to park on the kerb and it's an issue to get through as the place is popular.
Nice place to have a stroll down in the evening or when the weather is really nice. The view is quite something to see. Yet to go the Cafe nearby but that is next on my list.
Loverd the area, nice and clean Enjoyed our family picnic and the kids liked the play area
Great walking along promenade and fun Adventure playground for children with lovely cafe
Lovely area of Liverpool. Nice pub/restaurant for friendly food and drink with good free parking. Lots of disabled parking spaces to use and good for disabled use ramp options not many stairs. Great for dog walking which is what I use the prom for taking my dog and son along the prom ending up at the little park for a quick play before a quick walk through the wooded area which the kids love to explore and climb about not to mention the dog loves all the scents, sounds and sights. Lots of friendly people about and even a skate park ramp tucked to one side for the teens to use but also be out the way of anyone wanting a quiet walk. Lots of people use the grassy field areas lots of different sections facing the water front for picnics, resting and kids playing around on the grass with balls etc. area is always lovely and clean I tend to visit times when the kids are in school or early in the day time so I can always guarantee lots of parking spaces and a nice quiet walk which is so beautiful on sunny days. Make it your mission to find the ‘why don’t you’ filming building, the little tunnel up high and the massive red cow for something different
River side , nice looking sky. We visited in December evening, extremely windy. Forest Walk into a bridge
The park was really good, cafe was awful, waited an hour for food we were told 30 mins people who came in well after us were getting theirs. Went up to see what had happened and told another 10 mins. Cancelled order and left. We had a 20 month old child with us. Mike who refunded was helpful. Told no picnics allowed, if they cannot cope with volumn of people they should let you bring your own.
Went here for a family weekend walk. Very spacious park. Bought ice cream from the cafe next to the playground. Had a wonderful time.
I love this place, it's so calming and fresh to be beside the river. There is so much to do with children, especially if you bring thier bikes, scooters, football and kite! The new Seats that overlook the river are amazing. Well done for that addition Otterspool. Great day out, the cafe is reasonable to and the staff are friendly
This is a more than wonderful area, the sky was sunny and the atmosphere was wonderful, we realy enjoyed every space and view, and we will repeat the visit in the future, Recommend it for all kind of activities
