Had read the reviews and chose to support a small family business. Due to unforeseen circumstances I had to cancel my car hire. It does say clearly on their website they operate a no cancellations policy. However, they managed to rebook the vehicle straight away. They were not prepared to give me any money back. Yes, it is their policy but they showed no compassion or understanding. Not what I expected based on other reviews. They are happy to make double the money on the car, taking all of my money for nothing. Not the sort of people I want to do business with and I urge anyone to think twice before using this company. I will not be using again or recommending to anyone.  Edit: after 2 arguments on the phone they gave in and reluctantly offered a credit. I still find the way they went about handling this situation unkind and not what I expected from a family run business.

My son in law and myself both hired cars recently when visiting the UK. It was a great service with delivery and pick up included in the price. The cars were both older cars but suited our needs and got us from A to B. Much more reasonable than hiring new cars. Staff were very helpful and informative. I would certainly book with them again.

I have hired cars from Osborn repeatedly and over many years. I have not been disappointed. The drop off and pick up service is something that is costly with other car hire businesses. But something that is not taken forgranted with Osborn cars, also flexibility too. I will continue to use them as I have not had an issue. Even with last minute bookings. I will continue to use them.

A great company to repel with. Half the price of others and no nasty surprises. Nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend them to anybody needing to hire a car

We rented from Osborne car rentals the past six weeks. They are up front no surprises company. They delivered our car and picked it up when finished. The car was perfect for our needs and reasonable cost. We will rent from this company  every year when we return to UK. Thank you Molly and Dave for making it no fuss smooth.

This company takes details and deposits, fails to supply a vehicle, takes over a month after numerous calls and E-mails only to tell me they are not refunding my deposit. Please do not use them.

I have been with Osborn car hire, for about 10 years off and on. They go  above and beyond the customers needs. No issue is too much for them. I highly recommend this family run company. In all the years I have been with them  I have never had any problems at all.

absolutely brilliant service from Molly&co, highly recommended if you need a car hire around Chelmsford area. Though we landed in Stansted, it was no problem to pick us up from the airport and arrange a prepaid taxi back once we dropped off the car.

Had a care from this local, family-run business for a week to go to Bournemouth. Was a bit skeptical at first as the car 2009 Ford Focus was only 4 years younger than my own car and my reasons for hiring a car were because I had no faith in my own car’s reliability. However, for the whole 350-mile round trip the car never missed a beat. It is clear the vehicles are well-maintained and despite its age it was in good condition inside and out and didn’t have super high mileage either. The only negative was a slight smell of stale smoke which as a non-smoker I noticed, however this isn’t down to the company, it’s the previous hirers that are obviously inconsiderate and selfish. The car was delivered and collected on time and I even had a text the day before the end of hire to see if I needed to extend. My deposit was returned after a week as explained just in case of fines etc. And it was very cheap, just over £150 for a week. I could have got something newer from one of the larger chains but that would have cost at least double what I paid plus expensive add-ons and a hefty deposit. All in all, a very good experience and will definitely be using again.
