Rented a car from them for a trip to NYC. The staff was really nice. Had a bit of mechanical trouble in the city. I was told by telephone customer service to bring it to a Hertz counter in Manhattan. No one at that NY Hertz seemed to know how to swap me into a comparable car at the same rate. NY ended up giving me a comparable car, but at more than twice the rate I had been paying. I explained all this to Chelmsford Hertz when I returned, and they fixed it, so I was not over-charged. I was very happy with how I was handled there. I will use them again.
Rented a car from this location for my father during his visit over Christmas. The agent I do not recall her name inside was super friendly and helpful, as was the male agent who was there when we returned the car. The overall process was smooth and straight forward. The reason for knocking off a couple of stars was because of presentation of the office; it's super small and felt grungy with a lot of things piled up by the entrance and the parking lot was a little tight. It would probably help the costumer's confidence a bit if the office had a remodel. The other reason was because the car we got was a Nissan Sentra, and shortly after driving off the lot, two notification lights went off along with the words "malfunction". I called the site and explained what happened, the agent stated that they have been having problems with all the Nissan's having the same notifications go off and that they had been checked by the mechanic but that there was no real issue to fix and they were working on figuring out why the notifications were continuing to go on. They did offer to swap it out for another car, but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and kept what we had, thankfully with no issues. What bothered us about that is if they knew that was happening, why wouldn't they warn the costumer about it before leaving the site? At least we would know and avoid an alarming situation.
Worth a 20min drive to another location or company to rent a vehicle. We had a reservation and arrived 10 min after the pickup time. We were not helped for 30min. When we were, we were told no cars at all were available. We were then made to exit the office and wait outside, in the rain, for 40 min not in a lobby in a rough part of town while they went to get a car. When the employees came back with a car, it was not the size we paid for in the reservation smaller than what was rented and they still tried to charge us full price. Picking up the car took 2 hours. We’ve all lived through some crazy things this past year, but no there was no apology or attempt to make it right adjust the bill, offer free tolls, anything?! Disappointing would be the nicest word I can think of to describe the experience.
Shevonne helped us out in an emergency situation. She got us a car somehow in a timely manner despite us booking the morning of during a busy season and day with multiple flight cancellations. We still quite aren't quite sure how she did it! We are so grateful Hertz was able to help us. Shevonne made what could have been a miserable experience tolerable with her bright smile and great customer service. I will go out of my way to go to this location rather than the Logan location in the future for rental needs. Avoid the airport traffic and have a better experience.

72453725825090 this reservation I stopped by yesterday. Talk with somebody and I have the reservation in 178$ and he told me I don’t have any car and after I’m asking how much and he told me 298$ and before like five minute ago he told me the same car 224 and this guy is very tough. No customer service it’s zero star
I've heard very negative feedback on this hertz location and I never experienced any poor service. Although this hertz is short staff, the last two service members were polite and very helpful. I've rented several times and have had no problems. They also provide great cars and have stay committed to there prices. I would say the only thing that needs to be worked on is the staffing. I returned my car on time and on receipts the return was recorded way later then the actual time, this could cause an extra day charge if they wait too long or get busy to record the return. Other than that I'll be back and have recommended this location a couple times.
Expect random charges. We returned the car last month and still receiving charges.. one random, one for gas and we most definitely returned it with more then what we left with. Going to dispute in the morning but shouldn't have to.
Made reservation on line, when I arrived was told they had no cars available. Then they said they did have a mini van available. I agree but then was told it was a upgrade so it was going to be more money. I said I had a reservation why are u not honoring it. The website suck's was the response and no u have to pay the upgrade. Be aware that they are playing games an don't honor online reservations. Will never rent again from Hertz.
I reserved a rental of a small car for 45.50 everything was all set to get it. Or so I thought, once we get there they informed me they don't have any of those cars on hand and told us the only thing available was an SUV for 90. Okay, no I understand they don't have any of those cars but what I was ABLE to reserve was one of those cars. They would not honor the price I got when requesting a car instead they wanted to charge me 90 dollars for another car. Why should I be able to request a car they don't have on hand when I have to also pick the location of pick up???? Why was I able to reserve a car they didn't have any why wouldn't they honor the price I was supposed to be getting?? I literally would have gone anywhere else had I known we chose there specificly because it was 45.50 55 something with tax even enterprise honors the price you reserve at if they don't have the type of car you reserved and often time they upgrade you anyways. So the problem is, why does hertz even allow a reservation to go through if they don't have that car? And if they don't have that car shouldn't they atleast be honoring the price???? Definitely choosing anywhere but them in the future.
