The nurses were friendly & attentive, polite receptionist, clean premises. Only issue is the waiting time. I was in there for 4hrs to have an x-ray on my leg. But I know that’s not really their fault as they’re understaffed.
Very friend reception staff. Small and cramped waiting space but after waiting 3.5 hours my husband was seen by a Dr who said he needed an xray and reassessed and go to Basildon or Southend as the xray department had closed 40 mins before he was seen. On arrival at Southend we now have to go through the whole process again in A@E. also husband asked to wear a mask which is acceptable but toilets had no toilet paper the first or hand soap and on 2nd visit still no hand soap!!
There is definitely room for improvement in their processes and a definite need to up-skill their staff members. Apparently just because they gave me crutches and a walker boot, NHS staff considers that the full treatment has been provided to me. After an injury as a minimum a patient should be immediately told how serious the injury is instead of being sent home to wait for a call from a “specialist”. It is also important to let patient know what he/she can or cannot do during healing to make sure that no further damage is done to the injured body part, perhaps even be given a referral to see a physiotherapist, be provided a report for the workplace explaining why patient won’t be able to come to work and how long for he / she will be absent from work. The general lack of care by this establishment and dismissive approach is absolutely disgusting. 9 days have gone by since my visit to OMI unit, but no call from so called “NHS specialist”… At the end i had to go privately to seek appropriate medical care.
I have visited Orsett minor injuries several times over a good number of years with different injuries. The service is very hit or miss, it's very dependent on who you see. There is one nurse in particular who is patronising and rude, she just wants everyone to call 111 or visit their GP's. The rest of the staff are extremely professional and courteous, unfortunately the rude nurse seems to be ever present at the reception ready to turn people away and I can see why people say they have wasted their time going to minor injuries.
Went to Urgent Care. Seen in good time and the staff were very thorough in their approach and care. Courteous and professional experience from start to finish.
0 stars. Was put through by a receptionist to a nurse practioner on 24/08/23 @ 14:55 for some advice after my little ones hair was ripped out by a swing on one side of her head, looked red raw n blistery, little one screaming saying it's throbbing but no wound hence ringing immediately for advice as its nearby us. Nurse Practioner sounded annoyed as soon as she answered she was condescending, patronising and so rude, told me there was nothing they could do, use some ice and observe her myself as I'm her mother and i should know best... when I pointed out how rude she was to me for no reason at all she said " you want advice I'm giving you it" and hung up on me. Fab look for the injury unit what a warm welcoming safe nurse pracrioner she is..... NOT! Will avoid this place in future.
Had to go there today due to a injury that hadn't stopped bleeding overnight. I was treated with the utmost care, Privacy and professionalism. The nurses took me further away due to private reasons and helped me. Thanks a lot guys and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Even the security on my way out helped me find where to book a taxi. Thank you again guys.
Rude nurse who treated my son like he was stupid because he couldn’t point to exactly where the injury was on the top of his head. When I tried to show her a picture she waved my phone out the way and said I don’t want to see a picture. Refused to acknowledge me and showed no care or empathy towards my son.
Fantastic friendly, helpful and experienced staff. From reception to triage nurse Linda and X-ray department. Bit hard to find but was worth it once I did. I was in and out with lots of follow up advice in 1 hour. Absolutely credit to the NHS and more like this needed. Thank You to all the staff there.
went to minor injuries 23.02.23. Very busy but they were very well organised, friendly and proficient. follow up call the next day to advise on results of ex-ray/reports carried out, as well as what next steps would be, saving loads of time waiting around at Basildon A&E. We cannot afford to lose this valuable and much needed service in Thurrock.
