On 22/08/22 I had a blood test I have them often without any issues this time it was a male nurse he never pressed hard to stop the bleeding by the time I got to my car the whole area was covered in blood! I managed to stop the bleeding, the next day I had bruising all along my inner elbow area day three I was in terrible pain and phoned my GP he said I must remember the nurse and never go to him he, then said I will have an issue with that vein for life and must not have blood taken from my right arm! Here we are the 5th October and my arm is still very painful even my clothes touching it is painful! He shouldn’t be doing that job if he doesn’t know how to do it properly! Otherwise great hospital with lovely helpful staff.
Eye department kept me waiting over 2 hours over my opointment time! Wouldn't mind but I was the 4th slot of the day. How do I pay my bills when they keep me from work ? Trying to cancel my next opointment but every 15min the line cuts out. Look forward to seeing the signs asking you to cancel opointments instead of not turning up.
Was advised by 111 to attend miner injuries in orsett. Upon arrival I was told by a rude receptionist that 111 did not say that to me there was nothing that they could do for me. Not even a check over. By far the worst service I've ever had I'm never going there again.Absolutely shocking service !!!!!!!!!!! Dont even deserve 1 star tbh.
Hospital is good, staff are lovely. Only problem is I can never get through to them via phone, it’s impossible! I’m pregnant and suffering with horrible morning sickness which is making it hard to leave the house. I tried to let them know in good time that I wouldn’t be able to attend my appointment but I couldn’t speak to a single person to let them know. If I do get through to the switchboard, they’re no help as they won’t help me get a message to the relevant department and will only put my call through, to which I have been on hold for about 2 hours previously and still gotten nowhere! I tried to let them know so we could either speak over the phone or rescheduled, but now the appointments been wasted and I feel guilty because I couldn’t them know!
I took my needle and blood phobic 15 year old son in for his first blood test today. He started to panic, but the phlebotomist was absolutely amazing with him, calmed him down and made the whole experience much less daunting for him. I don't think they get given enough credit for the important work they do.
Absolutely outstanding. I have just come to do my x-ray and didn't know I had to book. From the beginning I didnt know if I could park so I've asked a staff from the portable CT scanner and they happily explained the parking and where I had to go, when I got to other main entrance I was greeted asked to wash hands and directed to reception. Again very nice welcome, they asked of my appointment I said I didn't have one as I was not aware, without any hesitation they send me to x-ray department to see if I can be seen, in the x-ray lovely Receptionist said that although I should've had an appointment she has space and will book me. Luke in X-ray was very nice and caring. I think this was my first pleasant experience when it comes to a hospitals. Thank you so much to all the staff, you truly make a difference.
Came in here with a suspected broken ankle, I was told I would be able to get an X-Ray as I had gotten there over an hour before it closed for the day. I waited and people came in and got seen before me, only after an hour and me prompting them do they see me, before telling me the X-Ray is now closed. To add insult to injury, they wouldn't give me crutches as I hadn't been officially "diagnosed" because they didn't know if it was sprained or broken. You don't need to diagnose anything to see my ankle was double the size of the other one. I had to hop to the car park with a potentially broken ankle and go to another hospital, over an hour wasted of me sitting in pain.
Absolutely terrible, my boyfriend went here couldnt walk and was in loads of pain, didnt even give him crutches. Was told he would get an X-ray before 2.30 so waited, other people came in after him and got an X-ray straight away. 2.30 came and was told that it was closed and he would have to go to basildon.
Absolutely awful woman coordinating the blood tests who treated us very badly this morning. The doctor who took our bloods was really lovely - such a shame that there are individuals on the NHS who think they have to speak to people like animals to get the job done.
I’ve used this hospital many times for blood tests and have always found all the staff from security to reception and phlebotomists always very polite and helpful , I also use the eye unit and the diabetes centre and I have the same opinion , I applaud all the NHS staff your doing a grand job and Thankyou x
