This is an amazing hospital. Whenever I have had to go there I found the staff friendly, welcoming and the hospital itself spotless. For all those that give it bad reviews because you waited too long in A&E, understand what that means. Accident and emergency. If you go in with a broken bone that is not life threatening, it is an accident and you may take a while to be seen. The reasons for this are: 1. People go to A&E when they have no reason to do so. They could go to a minor injuries unit. 2. There will be a nurse/doctor doing different roles in A&E. One of them could be flooded with a list of people as long as your arm, another could so few that they could count in on 1 hand. 3. If someone comes in with life threatening condition, they will ALWAYS get priority. In my opinion nurses in general are overworked and under paid. The NHS needs more funding, but in the mean time, this hospital is operating as best as it can 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Can't believe some of the comments on here! Outstanding level of service and treatment, we have the best Health Service in the world! We should be proud of our NHS the Paramedics, ambulance service, Doctors, Surgeons, Nurses, Cleaners, and all the other cogs in the machine making it work so well even with the underfunding! I'm alive because of you!!! Thank you all the staff!!!

11 hours wait yet their systems kept showing between 1 hour 38 mins wait and 2 hour 48 min wait. I suspect official figure fiddling so they can publish favourable data to the government and public.

My twin boys died because of the let downs of this hospital . They gave us 3000 pounds as a good will gesture , which only covered the grave stone . Would never come back here out of choice . Scared me for life what they did to me . Hope Dr Hloob & sherry smith mid wife don't work there any more . If I had the money for a good solicitor at the time I could of took them to the cleaners for what they did to me. This happen to me in 2007 and I remember everything like it was yesterday! !!!!!

The 2 stars are for the kind nature of the nurses and doctor in the emergency gyneocology unit. Due to lack of testing and treatment even after 3 months of constant pain I cannot give any more stars. I went into this a and e because I was (and continue to be) suicidal as a result of chronic pain which I acquired overnight and have not received any proper help with. I’ve seen countless GPs and even payed to see a private consultant. I’ve been referred, waiting the time fame stated then called only to be told I have to wait another month, all the while not being able to attend college and going from boiling hot bath to boiling hot bath as I have no other means to alleviate the severe and unrelenting discomfort. The NHS insist on running the same tests over and over for no apparent reason. I’ve had three blood tests (the one done in this a and e has left me with a huge bruise and I have no idea why), four urine cultures (two more sent of from this a and e) and three ultrasounds (the third to be completed here on the 20/03/18.) The emergency gyneocologist told me I don’t have a gyneocological issue. I asked to see an emergency urologist and was told they do not have one. I was told to call me GP and epedite the referral but have since done this and have been told they are unable to expedite the appointment. I was told I could be admitted for pain management that day but was then told that they didn’t have enough beds to admit me for pain management. I was given a box of co-codomal (30/500mg) and took as prescribed. They alleviated my pain slightly but also made me so dizzy and drowsy I was unable to read, carry a glass of water without spilling it etc. I became sick to my stomach and everything I ate or drank I threw up. I have therefore had to stop taking this medication for the pain and am still in constant pain and discomfort now. The NHS need a systematic approach. Doing the same tests over and over again is a complete waste of tax payers moneys. I need to move on to the next stages so a solution can be found and I can go back to having a life. I need a cystoscopy etc and to see a consultant urologist urgently. I also need to see a pain management clinic so drugs can be found to atleast alleviate my pain which is so intense I cannot sleep without sleeping pills. I’m an 18 year old girl who used to love life. I just want to get better.
