It's a 4-star for the roast duck. Bones were taken off. Sauce drenched over that tasted flavorful without too much saltiness. And the meat just so tender. Would have loved crispier skin and a bit more duck fat. The other dishes of sweet sour pork, veges in soup and spicy beef brisket were not satisfying for a Cantonese foodie in me.
Wow! This is one of the best, most authentic and real Chinese restaurants I have found in recent times. I am not fan of Chinese food - UK Chinese food - and this place provides a more authentic flavour and menu which would have my husband and I as regular customers if we lived close enough. A vibrant, very busy yet intimate restaurant where the waiting staff take a great interest in ensuring that you order food you will enjoy, don't over-order and that everything is to your satisfaction. This restaurant deserves 5 stars on all fronts.
Visit 1 - Delicious roast duck with egg noodles in soup. Duck was crispy and fresh, noodles boiled just right and soup was nourishing. Good pricing and quick service during a weekend afternoon. Visit 2 - had their classic off menu special, the LSE fried rice - a combination of crunchy fried rice, pork stir fry and a perfectly fried egg. The fried rice is not for those with sensitive teeth. The pork was fatty but has enough meet for those who don’t like fat and delicious.
Lse fried rice was very nice but room for improvement as egg was not fresh and rice was a bit too hard you can sort of tell they been siting there all day waiting But overall a nice dish and quite creative. Pork is really nice tho
Was looking for someplace to eat in London at 1am and this place was a blessing! The food wasn't expensive at all, the service was great and I especially enjoyed the Hong Kong style iced tea and coffee. Would definitely recommend, especially if you're on a night out and are craving some delicious food.
Food was average but the dumplings was nice. They forgot one order but still charged me. Had a starter and then ordered 3 dishes but only 2 turned up. Service was fast but the resturant is abit cramped inside and tap water was already poured into the glasses for the customers. Very unhygienic as you donot know how long its been sitting around.
My prawn noodles soup was okay, my friend’s beef brisket noodles was nice. Staff were in a rush clearing out the table as soon as they saw we put down the chopsticks, kinda urged us to pay quickly by bringing the bill and pay machine right away though, and asked us to pay the added service charges without properly informing or giving options.
Upon entering the resto we were ushered to our seat quickly -- the place was packed as it was on a sunday evening. Menus were handed out and they took our orders. I honestly felt rushed when we were ordering because the man who took our orders wasn't smiling at all. Anyway, after maybe around 5 minutes, our freshly cooked meals arrived which is quite impressive considering how busy the place was! The spicy pork belly has the right amount of spiciness and the noodle soup tasted authentic with its generous amount of dumplings. Also, the rice noodle was also so good, I could taste the "wok" used to cook it which is a great plus. One could easily know that they used fresh ingredients in preparing their products. I must admit that the quality and taste of food being served here was better than by those from their neighbouring restaurants. Furthermore, the ambiance is typical of most Chinese restos I've been to. Tight spaces with just enough room to eat comfortably. The only problem I encountered though was the men's toilet. It was very pungent and I was like inhaling vapor made up of urine. I was actually using a mask that time but it was so strong that the scent penetrated through it. Have I not been in dire need of the loo, I wouldn't have used their toilet. Food Ambiance Service Price Toilet PS. From now on, I will start to rate establishments as a whole to help them see what they don't usually see and eventually might help them improve and be the best they could be.
The BBQ pork rice is yummy and the BBQ pork noodle is also quite good, esp the noodles, it’s quite authentic as hong kong style However, their service is so so, rushing the customers to leave …
Really great place compared to the neighbouring Chinese restaurants. Very quick service and the food was served really quickly. Everything tasted really fresh and the server was friendly and quick with any demand extra napkin, extra cutlery, more drinks, chilli oil..
