Really efficient service. Was worried about trying here after reading some of the other reviews but needn't have done. The staff are busy but not rude. Loved the beef brisket and tendon dish. We couldn't eat pork so they changed some of the starter platter for us without issue. The portions are large and plentiful. Go hungry, we took leftovers home!
It’s a decent place to eat and talk. My friend and I just went in to have a bite whilst we caught up with each others’ lives. Food was good and drinks were good too but nothing that was out of the ordinary. The staff were friendly and didn’t force us to leave and actually brought us glasses of water after our drinks had finished which I thought was rather considerate and thoughtful.
Excellent food! We were super pleased with the food. Not salty at all compare to the ‘typical’ The decor is a bit dated and costumer service ok. Only down side is that they include the ‘service fee’ or tip on the bill even for a small party, we were two and it was actually more than we would of put just simply because the service was eh!
As a chinese, not recommended food is soso, portion is small.service is not good yet pricey. Maybe just for karaoke : "Forget me not pork hand" Really cant forget the small portion and the tasteless pork
Staff normal, nothing outstanding. Polite staff but the felt offended when we return one of our dishes. The food is not good. I ordered soup noodles with beef and it had more fat than meat. The noodles were tasteless. The food was served in literally 5' after we ordered... I won't go back, not even for a free meal.
The food is great. The service is poor.
Staff were abrupt, banged the dishes and glasses down on the table. Zero manners. The chicken in the chicken curry was awful and was brown almost on the inside and didn’t taste in anyway shape or form like chicken. The beef was as bad. Vegan in our group asked for veg & rice and they added in tofu without saying and charged for it. Then we asked to take off the DISCRETIONARY service charge off the bill and got a snappy Why back. We said it was because we weren’t happy with the service and the waiter threw a strop and didn’t speak a word there after or ask why.
TL;DR: Food okay but worst service I've ever, EVER, had in my life I am still speechless. Ironic that the first time we, a group of 4 Asians, encountered racism in London is in Chinatown My friends and I had a HORRENDOUS experience and I thought I'd check with TA and Google Reviews. Unsurprisingly, more than half of the reviews had a similar experience. 1. One of the red flags that should've sent us running was how the waiter rudely banged the plates as they were clearing them away. We were ticked off but decided to give them the benefit of the doubt. 2. Menus distributed to 4 of us had DIFFERENT PRICES. Asked the staff to clarify but were met with very apparent impatience. The staff proceeded to take our orders in a rude and condescending way. 3. Orders didn't take too long to come but waiters other than the one young female was EXTREMELY condescending, practically slammed our food to our table. At this point one starts to wonder if there is some extreme racial discrimination occurring as we don't hear them banging plates at the next tables which seated white and chinese people we are Southeast Asians 4. Staff talked about us in the open, not even trying to tone down their voice. I know this because even though my Chinese is rusty I can actually understand bits and pieces of their conversation. I would never return here or recommend anyone to come here even if my life depended on it.
ever get the feeling that you don’t belong? Well that’s what i experienced at this restaurant. I was able to read all the google and TripAdvisor reviews in the hour that i waited to be served and acknowledged by the wait staff. We had to get up and place our orders and that was then only interaction that we had with the staff.... oh and when we got up to cancel our order because of the poor service or lack of that we received. We watched 5 tables seated and served before the staff even made eye contact with us. Giving 1 star is even too much credit as we were ignored the entire time we were there!
After sitting down and getting our drinks, the waiter came to tell us what we understood as they were no longer serving food at 1 pm, but told us he would come take our order. We then waited, and tried to get hold of another waiter to order food. He stared blankly at us, and proceeded to walk away and use the other half of the hallway so as to avoid coming by our table. After 5 failed attempts at ordering food and getting ghosted by the wait staff, we ordered the bill for our flat cokes, and the waiter sounded surprised. Would love to comment on the food, but never made it that far.
