Visited Bakewell many many times from Glossop but never been to the museum. So glad we went today. It's a fascinating place with so much history and full of interesting exhibits. We were given a brief history of the Tudor building on arrival. Well worth the £6.50 entrance fee. And worth the long steep walk up to it. Although you can drive. John & Jane Parkin. The church is also a very interesting place to visit just below.
Having been to Bakewell on many occasions and we had never been to the Old House Museum so decided to visit.nWhat a great place to find out about the house and Bakewell plus there are lots of memorbilia.nThere was a fantastic exhibition of 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II reign.nThe lady who was on duty was very knowledgeable and friendly.nWell worth the £6 entry 12 monthsand the walk up the hill.
Beautiful little museum within Bakewell. Very interesting range of displays and the house itself is an exhibit all its own! Also your ticket is good for entry at any time within 12 months of purchase if you'd like to return.
A great little knowledge hub for a quaint little village in the peak district. Many old and rear artifacts about the history of the area and information about the way things were. Successions are available for carers. We paid only £10 for a group of four of us. Building is on two floors.
The ticket lady very nice. We walked round the museum very interesting. When we were watching the film, the guide with a loud voice came in with 2 people and started talking about the room, so we couldn't hear the film which was very annoying.
